She tends to oversing sometimes, which can be very annoying. I blame her for Rhydian losing last year, her duet with him was horrendous. It's a shame because she can sing some things beautifully.
Aled Jones version is dour and avoids any of the verses about sex

not whole song but most of it iirc. He's so deadly serious it's hilarious & like he's trying to out do Cohen's reputation.http://www.imeem.com/groups/oJAkHX7w/music/00J6YISC/aled_jones_hallelujah/ - it's herenot whole song but most of it iirc. It's very hard to do that song wrong I think.
well it clearly does matter to some people. Me included.

i'm not sure i've been especially worked up. read the OP - i was pretty much laughing at the situation

)LOL! I can't believe those 16 year old bastards have never heard of Leonard Cohen!!! Damn, am I ever glad I'm so much better than them!
BUCKLEY WAS DOING THE CALE VERSION. BADLY.Yeah, but that's, y'know, you and you're a bit...y'know
Anyway, I've always preferred the Buckley version to the Cohen version, simply because the only Cohen version I've heard of it has terrible keyboards and backing singers and is from his lounge lizard era. The Buckley one gives it some feeling, even if it is ever so earnest and has now been co-opted by everyone on earth. It's his Smells like Teen Spirit, basically.

Fuck sake.
