There's a club night in London with your name on it...!

just remembered two more

Harlan T Bobo - Too Much Love (lyrical country stuff)

Adam Green - Jacketful of Danger (witty, debauched neo-Cohen. Or something)

Really? I'm surprised. I found it smug, insincere and hateful.
:)

Anyone heard that Comets On Fire album yet?

Jacketful is indeed a good album but even as an avid AG/Moldy Peaches fan, do think his last albums were better-Jacket was so short too:(

Two votes for Adam Green! How funny - I really hated it. I loved "Friend Of Mine" of course, but I thought "Jacketful" was just a bit tawdry. "Party Line" and "Cast A Shadow" were quite sweet, but a lot of the time I found myself thinking it was all a bit pathetic. I just thought - what's the point, when we've got Richard Hawley dong something similar about a million times better.

IMO, of course.

It wasn't as fully formed as his previous offerings I'll agree. Friends of Mine is superb and the one with the delightful holographic sleeve which name I've curently forgotten.
I just want a new Moldy Peaches album:(

yes:D X10

Thirsty for new Dexateens album, and has anyone heard The Bronx yet?

the other package to arrive yesterday contained Duke Special (more AOR, I suppose but he's great). Got a sopng on it called Brixton Leaves which is all about how accepting the neighbourhood is compared to his native Belfast.

Oops that's all second half stuff...so back to THE PIPETTES - i thought it would be a bit scrappy but it's full of tunes and the production is great. Lovely summertime album.

.

Is it good?

I haven't heard the new Bronx album yet, but the one out a couple of years ago was superb. Saw them at the Barfly and they tore the place apart* (man). Brilliant band.

* In a manner of speaking.

BURIAL

it is a good album, far more suited to home listening than most dubstep but as there's only one tune with lyrics i can see how it might alienate the easily bored

exactly my point, 'electronic' albums rarely work as whole bodies i suppose that's mypoint, Burial is a collection of work a la aphex's "selected ambient works" but is wildly lacking in consistency, Broken Home is such a stand out track everything else seems a bit half baked and some of it a bit too bare.

oh yeah agree about pipettes, probably my idea of heaven an evening in those three!
