Half Man Half Biscuit Live in London

Great fun! Nigel seemed to really enjoy himself. There were some people near the front holding up oven gloves, but I couldn't see if they were actual Joy Division branded ones.

Didn't meet any urbanites, but then I've got no idea what anyone looks like. The bloke I was chatting to at the bar could well have been one.

A highly enjoyable night.

Had a great time.
Highlight : The iPod shuffle moment during '24 hour garage', and yer main man's general enthusiasm ... plus the excellence of even those songs I don't know  Plus Trumpton Riots ...

Lowlight : pricey rubbish 'beer', hasslesome security who failed to find my mini-stash by millimetres

Other small lowlight : The absence of 'Reflections in a flat ' -- I was really looking forward to one of the greater linebreaks in lyrics ..

'Oh darling sugar honey
Back when the days were sunny
And when I had some money
We would go and see Echo and the Bunny
Men ... ' :D :D

Nice one William - glad you had such a top time, despite the rubbishy beer. Did you see many hmhb'ers in the Wethies?

I met a HMHBer in weatherspoon's who I mistook for william, didn't see william though although I spotted dubversion in the distance

Well, the wife bought me Back in the DHSS for xmas, which is now blasting out at improbable volume.

"May I ask you dear sir just one more question,
if music be the food of love, are you the indigestion?"

Mega confusion about the Wetherspoons, apols.

The one I went to was 'The Green', an ex-Wetherspoons at the North West corner of Shepherds Bush Common (where Uxbridge Road and Wood Lane meet). But there's also another, newer, vaster Wetherspoons on the South side if the Common, down towards the Holland Park Avenue end.

I imagine both places were packed with fans, the one I went to certainly was ... kind of obvious who they were, too! ;)

And at the gig, I understood for the first time all the banter I'd read here about Joy Division oven gloves -- this had entirely baffled me before, cos I'd not heard the song :o
Not sure I saw anyone with any, though :p

Anyone else spot Eddie Argos in the audience?

yeh, but only cos he went to Sunday school with my sister (Sparklefish) and we got chatting about being from the same place and THEN i remembered he was Eddie Argos :D :D

So who's coming to manchester?

Anyone want two tickets? I ordered some months ago, forgot and just ordered some more, so if anyone's interested in a pair of tickets pm me!

I'll be at Manchester, may need a couple of tickets, I'll ask tomorrow. If anyone else wants em though feel free, the venue is just round the corner from work so no probs for me to go and buy some there.:)
