Haggis!

i bought my veggie haggis but it says to wrap it in tin foil to cook. reckon i could get away without using it?

aha - it's today... I was wondering. My daughters invited a friend for a sleepover. Would be quite interesting to see their faces if I tried to get them to memorise a bit of Rabbie and fed them a sheeps stomach.... Then again I'm not sure my daughter would forgive me and her friend may never be back. Even if it is the 250th.

[edit] OOOops resurrected a thread :o ... ah well, still topical  [/edit]

Burns night is the 25th January :)

2 last minute emergency veggie haggis questions

a) is the casing of my "McSween's vegitarian haggis" edible?

b) can I chuck the neeps etc in the same water wile its in there?

It tastes similar to black pudding strangely enough. It contains oats and offal and should be in a sheep's stomach but will probably be in plastic. I like it but won't be making any fuss about Burns night. I might look out for discounted leftover haggis early next week though.

Thanks!

I've never had black pudding either...offal and sheep's stomach...i dont think so :)

just had ours, with mashed swede, red cabbage and brussel tops. tick vg, even for a cheapo supermarket number.

Had one this evening. In fact had both a McSweens proper and veggie one. neeps and tatties as well obv. A nice glass of Talasker. Some cranachan and i'm making stovies for breakfast tomorrow with the left overs.

I had haggis on Tuesday, wednesday and thursday. I'm having haggis tonight, tomorrow and sunday, and then twice on Monday.

I heart haggis.

Stick a fork in me, I'm done!

Although there is some leftover from lunch in the fridge at work...
