Gyoza....

Upstairs was really good - it has a small menu (just three choices for each course), but I think it changes every week or so. It's more for a special occasion (about £18 for two courses I think). Hmm, I guess modern british food – I had a great sticky toffee pudding, and something involving goat's cheese for a main course – sorry not a very good description.

Upstairs above Opus is very good.

Went to Opus for tea and cake on Saturday. Never again. The service was stoney-faced, and £6.60 for two teas and two bits of cake is ridiculous. My cake was nice, but even so. The place wasn't particularly full and it's only small so you'd think they'd make an effort to at least be friendly.

You should have gone upstairs!

Not really an option when you've got a pram!

But upstairs is a restaurant isn't it? Downstairs is a regular cafe - we just wanted some tea and cake so thought it would be fine.

Had posh breakfast at Hive on Saturday. I was pretty good. I'd go again.

We went to Hive once last year for Sunday lunch. I asked if the beef was pink and the waitress said I could have it anyway I liked it, which seemed a little unusual for a roast.

When my food arrived, it was a plate of pretty much raw slices of cow. Their 'roast' beef clearly goes nowhere near an oven.

It was a piss poor dining experience..
