Gym changing room etiquette: the poll

There's an old lady who does her yoga in the buff in the steam room. I am still not sure if I am more disturbed by her nekkidness or by how much more supple she is in her 70's than I could ever dream to be.

When I used to go to the gym it was all of 100 yards from my flat so I'd just walk there in my shorts and then go home to shower and change afterwards. The main reason for this is that the changing rooms at my gym were fairly cozy and high concentrations of aerosol deodorants do horrible things to my lungs and throat.

Now of course I've discovered the fine art of excercising out in the real world for free with (best of all) no fucking radio one playing in the background.

The only nudity I ever saw in the gym that seemed weird was this one guy, done a lot of body building, standing naked in front of the full length mirror admiring himself, throwing a couple of poses, and a couple of wannabe bodybuilders standing with him, also staring at his reflection, and oohing and aahing.

I guess there was also the other guy at the same gym. He was about 50, Italian maybe, and I think he'd worked out too hard. He was disoriented. Once he got his clothes off, he kept trying to go out of the change room into the workout area. Eventually, there was a wrestling match between a couple of the workers, and this naked guy, to keep him there till an ambulance could be called.

If I go during a busy time, the changing room is like Grand Central Station at my gym. No one's looking at anyone else and everyone is frantically pulling off clothes, hopping in and out of showers, and forgetting their water bottles all over the place.

When it's not busy, it's a different story. People check each other out like they've never seen another nude person before.

I'm not shy. I don't give a toss.
