Guy Ritchie interview gold

"Now, the marmalade at Richoux, that's an accessible marmalade..that one — that's just pure esoteric marmalade...
you can tell a lot by a person's marmalade. My palate is really a fine shred, it's accessible. I'm not saying I won't test you. Because all marmalade tests you."
Yeah, I got through the first three pages thinking that he seems a nice-but-dim enough chap, who seems a wee bit pretentious on occasion, and with dodgy hobbies in fighting and martial arts, and then I read the stuff about the marmalade. WTF!?

It's not possible to be so philosophical about marmalade without sounding like a Grade A twat, basically.

I mean, I could just about imagine a drunken 'which is better: jam or marmalade' conversation in a pub after several shandies, that kind of 'meaning of life' debate is par for the course beyond a certain point in the evening and after consuming a certain amount of alcohol, but to take such drunken ramblings so seriously and to publish them as some kind of philosophical insight into a man is stretching it a bit, well, a lot, really.

I don't know who's the bigger cock, though, Ritchie or the writer.

The great thing about Gypsies is they keep you smart," Guy pronounces, before disproving his thesis in jaw-dropping style. "They will steal, you can bet on it. But they know things. They teach you lessons. About steam engines, about coursing dogs, folk music. They give great currency to language . . . "
I wonder what the Equalities Commission would have to say about such negative stereotyping of the traveller community?

D'you think he's going to get sued by an individual or by some gypsy association for hurting their feelings? :hmm:

I should imagine that someone, somewhere, is thinking, hey didn't he just get millions from Madonna, I fancy getting hold of some of that dosh...

The interviewer comes across as a far bigger tool than Guy Ritchie in that piece.

And furthermore, Marina Hyde is the worst kind of negative, parasitic journo.
Have you not followed the links in the Liz Jones thread and read some of her work?

She was parasitically feeding off her ex as story fodder for years.

"At one point, on a dare," we're told, "Ritchie sings every word of every verse of an Irish folk song called The Rocky Road to Dublin." cant be all that bad ;)

In a similar vein highlights of Nick Love and Danny Dyer's commentary on the DVD of outlaw

And I would Marry Marina Hyde.

Danny was born in Canning Town,East London on 24th July 1977.He had a fairly typical East End upbringing, and would probably never have entered acting if he hadn't been spotted at his local Sunday School,by an agent who auditioned him for the part of Martin Fletcher in the acclaimed Granada Television series Prime Suspect. At the age of 14 he was given the part and found himself working along side Helen Mirren.

Danny subsequently appeared in a variety of television prductions including Cadfael,A Touch of Frost and Loved Up.After a bit of a quiet spell he emerged in two notable preformances.Firstly as Alec in Central Television's Thief Takers, and then twice as Gary Fox in Carlton's award winning series Soldier Soldier.

My favourite line ever is this

Danny became one of the best and most recognised London actors in the country.

He's typecast by his post code. "Danny Dyer proper fucking geezer, well hard, pity we need a scouser though."

So Marina Hyde is obviously on urban, as her columns read like an El Jefe deconstruction of Cheesy :D
