They’re taking the piss now
Watched 'snatch' the other night, expected to be bored/irritated - actually found it funny - lots of characters, very much cartoon characters rather than realistic - liked trying to spot Lahndahn locations ('The Olde Mitre' near Hatton Garden, Salamanca Place in Vauxhall/Lambeth North) enjoyed hearing the different accents particularly Alan Ford's ("Do you know what 'nemesis' means?").
Slightly disturbed by repeated use of the word 'pikey', though! The script seemed very much written with an international market in mind ("he's betting on the unlicensed boxing" - would anyone really call it that?; "He's gone hare coursing" - "What is coursing?" <cue explanation of hare coursing>) - hopefully our transatlantic cousins will not assume that 'pikey' is standard usage over here...
