Guy Ritchie: Crap / Not Crap

Watched 'snatch' the other night, expected to be bored/irritated - actually found it funny - lots of characters, very much cartoon characters rather than realistic - liked trying to spot Lahndahn locations ('The Olde Mitre' near Hatton Garden, Salamanca Place in Vauxhall/Lambeth North) enjoyed hearing the different accents particularly Alan Ford's ("Do you know what 'nemesis' means?").

Slightly disturbed by repeated use of the word 'pikey', though! The script seemed very much written with an international market in mind ("he's betting on the unlicensed boxing" - would anyone really call it that?; "He's gone hare coursing" - "What is coursing?" <cue explanation of hare coursing>) - hopefully our transatlantic cousins will not assume that 'pikey' is standard usage over here...

Lock stock is alright, snatch, less so. Can't imagine the one with Madonna is any good at all.

But Guy Ritchie? Not only crap, but quite probably a cunt too. IMO!

I agree here, 'Lock Stock' had a certain vibe raising 'London' ting goin on but the rest is just advert makers gone wrong. The route of the problem is with this 'holllywood' comparsion/reflection make films regardless.......

Lock Stock was ok I think, watched it years ago. Never seen Snatch and Swept Away is the worst film I have ever seen it's embarrassingly bad.

I think the guy personally is a fuckwad....but I do like Snatch and Lock Stock so I voted not crap.
