you're a dripping billy goat's penis.
Is there not a tautology here? My understanding is that "billy goat" designates a male goat (much as "tomcat" designates a male cat) and therefore - as a female goat by definition does not possess a penis - the term "billy" is superfluous in this context.

i think violentpanda could probably have worked that out

so what are you claiming i'm denying or fooling people about, muser? spell it out.

Ok dub, lets go back school. I'll play the role of teacher you can be the pupil this time around. Later maybe you might get the chance of being the teacher. We'll see. In a recent post you were more than a little disparaging about American beauty, a film that is almost universally recognised as being good. Even if you don't like the film you can see why some might.
Some bright spark on this forum used a term for someone who is intentionally obtuse, but I can't think of the word. Lesson over for today, remember to play nicely with the other kids. ;)

still not clear what you were accusing me of denying? the blather above didn't really cover it. As for my criticism of American Beauty going against some widely-held popular opinion - am I really supposed to give a fuck about that? Do you adapt your opinions according to prevailing trends?

Actually, don't answer that - you probably do.

As for the rather puerile attempts to patronise me - perhaps work on your syntax, clarity of thought and expression and general debating skills before taking me on, dear. :)

Patronising twat of the week award.

but no real style or substance. If you're going to patronise somebody, you need to be pretty sure you're smarter and more coherent than them. And muser fucked that one right up :)

Answer the point, stop evading it. This board tends to dismiss things that epitomise good taste. The aforementioned film being one, Guns and roses being another. I really don't want this turning into a slanging match, as you have been on this board longer than me and have a worthy sidekick in Iam, who can only think, if you do so for him.
If you are significantly older than me then I could see your point, but I don't think that is the case.

What fucking point? if you'd be good enough - as i've asked - to place a direct question before me, i'll happily answer it. So over to you.

By the way, "good taste" is merely a manner of opinion, not actually what you say, brains.

i think you'll have confused him. As for Guns N Roses epitomising good taste - jesus, i'd hate to put that to the vote :D

so if you like american beauty and guns n roses you have "good taste" and if you don't you must have "bad taste"?

is there a published list of what is good and bad taste? where can i access it? is it updated regularly? are girls aloud on it? what about sainsbury's "be good to yourself" spicy parsnip soup? and red chilli fairy lights? :)

never been into gnr meself. they're good at what they do...it's just that i hate what they do.....

i fear muser is going to be just the latest fuckwad to whom we have to explain - slowly, carefully and with more than a little awkwardness - that taste is subjective.

I obsessively worship the entire back catalogue of G'n'R and nearly cried when I couldn’t get tickets.:D

I spent about two hours trying to get thru for their Hammersmith show. Unfortunately tickets for that other bastion of 'good taste', Robbie Williams, went on sale at the same time. Touts will be chargin a fortune.

Guns n roses are cheesy yeh - but that's the point. It's almost comedy, and that's great. Far preferable to shoegazing IMO.

I'm guessing it'll be these bastions of taste...

what astonishes me about posters like muser - and muser is textbook case - is that they genuinely ramble on,with no rhyme or reason, and then come back at you with things like "answer the point" or "why are you evading this", things like that, as if there is actually a consistency to their posts, or that they actually have an argument that is consistent and flows with any logic at all.

It's amusing but also kinda worrying.

I think Muser's point is simpley that whenever someone posts a thread about somthing they like, particularly in the music forum, users will immediatley appear on the thread saying 'its shit' to varying degrees. I cant understand why everyone over reacted to him so much.

Agree with you there gabi. :) I think you can rest assured that anyone who listened to shoegazing probably spends Sundays cruising around B&Q/Homebase these days. Just my opinion.

two friends of mine - who are brothers - are both now young parents and homemakers, not strangers to a bit of DIY or furniture shopping.

they both listened to shoegazing.

and guns and roses.

They just remind me of the moronic rock kids I met in Florida years ago, though Slash could knock out some good riffs. Music to wank over Baywatch to.
