Guitar Hero III - Legends Of Rock.

Yeah you hit a colour that denotes a.....note.You have to hit chords too. It's much more interesting than it sounds.

Well it sounds rubbish so I hope so.

There only appear to be about five buttons and they are all in a row. How do you play all the notes an chords?

you'd hate it.

Leave it be.

It is not a real guitar. You don't play it like a real guitar. Think of it like they isolated the guitar track in the studio, chopped it up into lots of little pieces, and assigned each piece a button, or a combination of buttons. Push the button and strum at the right times, and you get the whole row of little pieces played back in the right order. Fuck it up and you don't hear that piece. (You get a Clunkscreech! instead). Get it right and it feels sweet, cos you got that timing right and the song sounds good :)

I'm too scared to buy this game. I've got the feeling I'll either end up getting completely addicted and losing all my free time (and lots of my non-free time), or I'll hate it and will have wasted lots of money.

To add: When you play on hard or expert level, there is pretty much no simplification of the songs - you strum/hit notes for every note played in the song...

Hence Through the Fire and Flames is just fucking stupid.

It even has hammer-on/offs for tricky bits etc which is

I can just about manage the latter stages of Elite Beat Agents on the DS, whereas I'm rubbish at Guitar Hero (even though I'm not so bad on the guitar).

Woohoo i got this game today, havent brought a ps2 game in fucking ages, im impressed though, and being a gnr fan, im pleased to hear welcome to the jungle as part of the music at the start, and slash being involved with this ofcourse, lol. This seemed like the only game worth buying and its been worth it so far, just got done doing the first songs of the 1st bit on easy, i particularly like the 'give me your best shot' song or w/e it is, i can see this being very addictive!

I just beat slash in a guitar battle, didn't expect to considering how bad i was against tom morello...but yeah its on easy, but still. :D Oh and now playing n encore of welcome to the jungle with him, lool.

You need to get on to medium as soon as possible TBH, else suddenly having to use the blue key will come as a massive shock.

Seriously - Easy mode is for people with Parkinson's and household pets only.

Pretty much.

But Hard is for hyper focussed mentalists only. Even the easy songs are a bitch on hard! If I want to stand a chance I'm going to have to spend ages practicing each section in Slower practice mode.

I have got past the Morello Battle in Hard and am about half-way to Slash.

That's "Get past" in most cases - 3 stars with the exception of one 4.

Tis good in co-op in hard though - unlock 1 more song per tier that is not in the 1 player game....including Sabotage.

i didnt have anyone to play with so i had to use a cheat to unlock sabotage, that tune was the main reason i liked the look of the game originally!

do you need 2 people + 2 guitar controllers to unlock it the proper way?

I'm guessing you can use the controller for P2, but that's a sucky way to play the game

2 people, yes.

Like Cripsy said, you could technically use the joypad, but.......

Sure it says on the box or I read somewhere that there's a Velvet Revolver song in this as well. Assume it needs to be unlocked, any idea what level you have to get past to unlock it if anyone's seen it?
