Guilty pleasure movies

quiet_earth.jpg

I don't feel the slightest bit guilty about liking that.

The UK DVD authors should though. The audio track drifts until it is a few seconds out of sync by the end.

flash gordon, although despite what the critics say (and sam j jones's acting) i think it's quite good

Waterworld.

A suprisingly underrated bit of sci fi. Comes from the period when the tide turned against Costner and he could do no right. It's entertaining, if a little messy. Hopper puts in a solid performance as the baddie and the premise was strong. High production values complete the 'solid b movie' feel.

That said, there is no excuse for The Postman. None whatsoever.

I can't say I've watched it in about 20 years and some, but I remember liking 3 Men and a Baby when it came out. And, of course, around the same time:
Goonies.

I reckon a guilty pleasure movie should be one that you know is awful by all standards... but something keeps drawing you back...

Thus:

Barb Wire.

Van Helsing.

The Phantom Menace.

Weird Science.

Terminator 2.

The Karate Kid trilogy.

Hostel.

Crikey... have just realised just how many there are....

Doctor Zhivago. Does that count? I'm not sure if it's genius or a cheesy chick-flick. David Lean though... so I'm guessing probably genius.
Definately genius. Nothing cheesy about it at all. Certainly nothing to feel guilty about. I love that film.
My Cousin Vinny.
That's a good film. What is it with you people
the poseidon adventure (original..... not shitty remake)
That's one of the best films ever made. I could watch it repeatedly. I have watched it repeatedly :)
american pie
A classic of it's kind
Groundhog day
Ghostbusters
Your guilty about liking these? I thought everyone likes Ghostbusters and Groundhog Day?
flash gordon, although despite what the critics say (and sam j jones's acting) i think it's quite good
Another great film. Why are people guilty about liking these these films
Goonies is great!
Barb Wire.
You, however, should hang your head in shame.

Completely agree, although I really wanted it to be shit because of the perfect metaphor at the beginning when he drinks his own piss :D
