Gregg's the bakers

terrible shite compared to any half-decent independent

haven't been in one since they served me a product with meat in it which I took back to a surly bint who didn't apologise for wasting my lunch hour

there's nowt wrong with eating McDs every now and then Onket. but you know how people think on here. it's hardly a shock that you get slated for it!

go buy food from an overpriced organic fairtrade white liberal middle-class hell hole of a farmer's market - that'll be much better for all concerned :)

You are right. Sorry state of affairs really.

yup..many a college lunch :D

the nearest greggs is a 20 min bus ride away...ffs i really want one now.

lunch, either i go into town and head to greggs or be good and eat the chicken salad thats in the fridge.

Why on earth would you go all the way into town for Gregg's? Go to Mai Bai instead :p

Could be worse; when I was working at Levenshulme, Subway was the only available option... !

It tastes of shit that's all :)

Whan I was young there seemed to be loads of greggs-type bakers around - now they seem like a rarity. I can only think of one other, Percy Ingle's, that's still around.

Where do you get it cheaper Zenie???

Oh.. Greggs is foul, horrible, only really usable for a hangover cure imo

Well they have a distinct north south divide pricing policy a cheese and onion party is 85p in hampshire always were much cheaper in Birmingham. However a cheese and onion pasty from greggs is the greatest hangover cure. In some places they have a distinct look a like called braggs

That sounds minging, gross, vomit inducing.. curry doughnut..

I much prefer jam in my doughnuts..

sounds gross huh?
but chinese bakers do things differently.
and their doughnuts aren't sweet!
try 'em!!
and try their chicken and mushroom or roast pork buns!
kicks the hell out of gregs (and they're healthier too!).

Salutes CA. Char Sui buns are indeed the food of champions.

Indeed, there should be more chinese bakeries around. I've rarely had a bad bun from one - there's always a subtlety, crispiness and skill sadly lacking from the average stodgy Greggs 'bungitintheovenandhope' pasty.

many many times has a Greggs cheese and onion pasty saved me.... hangover/comedown food of gods.... mmmm... cheesy, mushy, tasty, cheap.

Christ. If that's the food of the gods, make me a mortal.

:p

They're ok - better than Ginsters perhaps - but that's a bit much. You can't go too far wrong with cheese and reassuring fat, but they're nasty at the same time. i feel soiled after I eat one.
