Greens vs Respect in local elections

Yes there is "some mistake" - you have used the Lib Dem leader's words but implied they were from the Green Party (by using the weasle word "presumably")...It is noteworthy that you don't quote a single Green party person or mention a single Green party policy.

I would love to be able to quote from a Green leaflet but unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately) they are the only party that hasn't yet put a leaflet through my door. When and if they do, I may reconsider my position - but at the moment their 'silence' speaks volumes.

You say that the Leeds, Greens are "pushing" neoliberal policies, whereas in fact their 3 councillors are acting as a breaking and moderating influence on the other 96 councillors of all the other parties.

Er, yes. Of course they are.

If you want to keep the "debate" going how about answering some of my several question that I am still waiting for any Respect member or supporter to respond to, for example:

* Can you give me one single example of Respect withdrawing a candidate so as to avoid spoiling the Green vote? Just one, anywhere in the UK?

In the General Election - Did Respect stand in Brighton against Keith whatever he is called who was the Greens best chance? No. Did the Greens stand against Galloway - Respect's best chance ? Yes they did.

* I haven't seen any of the Respect members posting on u75 reporting on how they have coooperated with their local Green Party, just varying degress of bitter nastiness and whinging, disguised as an appeal for cooperation. Have any of you actually got contacts with your local Greens?

Yep, in Leeds Respect emailed them to let them know where we were considering standing to see if some sort of informal agreement of some sort might be worked out. Did we even get an answer from the local Greens? No.

All I can hear is a deafening silence.

You might have had better luck by contacting the Lancaster & District Green Party - c/o Emily Heath, 4 Rossmoyne Road, Lancaster LA1 4SN. She seems to be quite good at having contact with Green Party members in other cities. If only you had known!
