key worker accommodation is still a fairly minor percentage of social housing, I wouldn't even describe it as social housing tbh, since it is rented out at market rates or just below - show me where the subsidy is there. I managed some key worker accommodation - where is your involvement? the rents were around £150 a week for a one bed flat, the equivalent social housing rent was about £80-£100

The subsidy is in the the pre-construction phase, IIRC, i.e. land sold to the HA at a discount by LAs, and the tying-in of groundwork to existing services infrastructure being paid for by the LAs.
They can't help with either direct construction costs, or through rent subsidy because both are illegal AFAICR.
