Green Man Fezzie

With things like this, they mail the tickets out as late as posisble, so forgers have less time to make copies.

Please go and see my friend Rob at the Green Man Cafe on Sunday. He's well good :) (click through rob sharples on the site)

i might be going, some friends already have tickets, what's it like, green i hope?

tbh I aint been to a festival since a load of rogue parties and events during the nineties, Ive read a bit about it, sounds like a chilled out affair:)

we're going to. we had an email from the people that print the tickets saying that they werent going to be posted out until the middle of july at the earliest. we've moved house since we booked the tickets so i hope we can get through to the right people to get our details changed.

i'm really looking forward to it. as much as i love glastonbury the whole effort that is involved in getting around (when battered) does really sap your energy. a smaller festival with less to see wil probably suit me much better. lets hope the weather is good.

just got my ticket for this, not that much over the asking price, given that it's sold out i'm made up, was feeling spectacularly left out as we're going as a big possee. Anyone else going?

This looks an interesting festy, would like to be going - but I'll just have to make do with your reports and a bit of imagination :D

i can lend u one if stuck mate

I'm gearing up for an expedition down the basement to check over all the camping gear. I'm about 90% sure there is a tent down there somewhere, if not expect a phone call! -

Cheers for the offer!
:)

I must admit there are loads of acts on that I have never heard of! (This is a good thing I reckon, no marching around chasing stuff, just chilled out good music).

Anyone wanna suggest any must-sees amoungst the smaller acts??

go to see Viking Moses in the café on Sunday, he was the best live thing I've seen this year.

I saw Viking Moses earlier this year too,
love the way he moves on stage ;)

Anyone catch Steve Reid and Kieran Hebden? Excellent stuff.

weird, i thought they were crap :p best thing was the "11 dimensions of rock guitar", a kind of "bill & ted guide to string theory' in the cool 'Institute of Physics' tent, i conclude that science ought to have a much bigger role at festivals, get everyone talking,

other highlights, walking up the highest hill, Calexico covering Arthur Lee, rob mcdowall & johnny Trunk's DJ sets, Micah p hinson screaming & screaming on his last song and did anyone catch a big group of lads throwing this guys wood sculpture into the big fire on sunday night, a rare flash spontaneity if ever there was one.

I thought Gruff Rhys was utterly fantastic on the first night, and Simple Kid for that matter.

Ditto Circulus, anyone who says "We're gonna play a modern song now, This one is from 1640" deserves repsect in my book.

King Creosote followed by Micha P Hinson on the Saturday was ace too, and Sunday I spent wandering in a half cut, sleep-deprived daze listening to tinkly music (woodcraft folk etc) and a harpist singing songs about Cardamon pods.

The DJ tent was cool too, I opted to have a good long boogie to Andy Votel in there on the last night. I also caught the Silent films with live pianist in the cinema tent which was perfect.

As for the campfire, I've got nothing but respect for that poor sod who's job it was to look after it. The first night peeps started leaping over it, the second night a barrier appeared around it.

The night the (frankly quite rubbish) mushroom 'sculpture' got burned, 6 lads stormed in and tried to lob it on. Just when he'd got things back under control, a bloke dressed as in a tricorn hat and long coat starts dancing a jig around the fire, then leapt over it, then produced a pair of scissors from his pocket and cut down all the tape! - I think fire bloke gave up then.

It was too much fun to stop taking the piss out of him, but he never lost his cool!

One minor gripe was the 1am lock off for music, I know it was a condition of the licence but every night the DJ room had to shut down just as it was getting going.

Ace weekend anyway - :)

PS - I was really looking forward to Steve Reid and Kieran Hebden, but it was shit - I couldn't get into it and at the time I was coming up on a rather strong pill. Must have been rubbish then!
