Only three weeks! Missed it last year so we are much looking forward to it. We went to Glanusk Park recently and they havent even started getting anything ready. Get a move on its only 3 weeks away!

A lot of people will be pleased that we have a guaranteed date for a decent amount of rain.

I'm missing it this year, nearly bought tickets when I discovered how crap other festvals looked (apart from a couple I cant go to anyway), but it had sold out by then.

So it's bound to be dry.

Yep I have never been & want to go. Last years line-up was perfect for me.

My partner went many years ago & it rained & rained so he has the fear of going back.

We drove past the site last weekend on our (scenic) way back from Worcestershire. It's a truly beautiful area. And there's a half way decent chance of it staying dry/nice up to and including GM w/e ....

Good luck for that, because Green Man has a somwhat, erm, downpoury record in recent times

True enough. I have been every year but one since 2010 and we have never had a dry one. Fingers crossed we arent using all nice weather up!

Gonna try and work this... had a look at the website and keen to get a late application in.

Anyone know of work still going or got any tips/experience? Ive done a fair bit of stewarding before as well as bar work at Glasto.

BBC forecast for Crickhowell. This link keeps updating ...

I've seen much worse prospects for Green Man in previous years -- enjoy it all everyone, and I hope the rain really does hold off as far as possible ... :)

    Did you make it?

Ms B & myself did the litter-picking this year; not bad...get ticket price back, 1 full meal per shift (we did 1 per day) and constant brekkie/soup/toasties every day for £6 all in. Stewarding shifts were 6 hours, but the litter were 4. Spoke to some bar staff who said that previous year shifts had been very long...a little better this year, but i'm not sure if they were 'in-house' or concessions.

Crew camping was very crowded but the showers & crew welfare tent (containing Camp Kitchen) were good.

All in all, we had a real blast (what with the weather staying pretty good and all that) and, with the coinage we picked up litter picking we came home £ up :)

Driest ever GM we ever had. Shame I had to spend the saturday ill in the boiling hot tent. Camping in hot weather when your poorly is not fun.

Never been to this festival. I'd like to go but the line-up seems very folk-y. Does it have any form of repetitive beats after dark?

I'm going again this year. Last year I got a free ticket off someone who was performing but it turned out to be a horrid and very emotionally taxing experience so this year I'm paying for the ticket in instalments and hoping for a really fun do-over
It's bound to piss down as last year the weather was superb.

Last year was a fluke I think as it rains most years. Still I want to go.

So, do you know if they have house/techno tents or anything in the evenings?

    (and welcome back!!! :))

I'm the wrong person to ask sorry. Techno ain't my bag at all, so would have me walking in the opposite direction
    Thanks!

Chai wallahs is the main late night spot, more dub, hip-hop than techno.

Yeah, when Chai wallah’s is good, it’s *really* good.

The “Far Out” big top venue tends to offer what the youngsters like to jig around to after dark. Obvs I’m well tucked up in me camper by then, but my boy seemed to enjoy what ‘ Far Out’ had to offer.

'Far Out' tent re-brands to 'After Dark' tent after mid-night. They have had good dance acts on in the past - Caribou, Floating Points etc and Andy Weatherall is there every year DJing. He must live down South Wales or something as he seems to have as residency. Chai Wallah's is full of people dancing but its more of a mix so you will have hip-hop, jazz, ska etc. In summary Green Man is not a dance-focused festival but you will find it if you look for it after a certain time of night.
