Strictly or X Factor

The X Factor is only good when the crap singers are on. Then it's all downhill as the individuality is hammered out of the good singers so they can perform the soulless mal-musique Cowell peddles.
Exactly. If you're going to watch crap populist programmes, might as well go the whole hog and watch the car crash option! :D

X Factor for me. I have no interest in ballroom dancing or the kind of celebrities on Strictly Come Dancing.

And I get to annoy the kids by saying I fancy Alesha in front of their Mum. Win-win.

shame she was so bland on yesterdays show, said nowt of note. Why they dumped Arlene for her, i don't know. Should have got rid of the boring twonk, y'know, the one who isn't len or bruno

X-Factor, no shadow of a doubt, stricly come dancing is annoying (that music drives me nuts - tatarataratata tataratata)

Some of the dresses in strictly are fabulous though!

the process of strictly is more interesting to me. Take a group of people who can't do something at all, and give them the opportunity for intensive tuition. Which ones take the chance / who is committed to the process / who picks it up quickly / who just can't find the skills no matter how much they try...

if it was just about the weekend glitz shows, i dunno - i wouldn't watch x factor anyway, cos i get irritated by the glossy slickness they're aiming for, and i do like a bit of sequin and a showtune... so strictly might get me watching. but what makes it 'must see' for me is the daily bbc2 show with the training footage and the interviews with the people who are going through this hothouse-learning process. it's utterly fascinating.
