Grand National - which horse are you betting on?

After special Pete the Greek research, there's only one horse worth betting on.

I took the odds of 40-1, so I don't mind if the flood of Urbanite betting drags the price in with the National Bookies.

Tenner each way - ROYAL AUCLAIR.

LOVIN' IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well bet365 now have my money - hopefully a temporary loan:D

£5 on the nose - Idle talk 16/1

£1.50 e/w Hedgehunter 12/1

£1 e/w Longshanks 22/1

bet365 are paying out on first 5 finishers btw

I've put money on that one, and Simon.
wise choice

he got in the frame last year, he's a proven stayer, he knows aintree....look at the form....doesn't fall or unseat.....loves dry, fast ground (today's conditions)...it has all the ingredients of a winner or an each way contender.

FUCKING HAVING IT LARGEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing to do with form or anything technical like that I have been informed my money has gone on...

Jack High 40/1
Slim Pickins 33/1
Point Barrow 9/1

so I will have a break and watch it all excitedly like. :)

Yeah. Another Grand national, another torn betting slip.

Doubtless to say I'll do the same next year.

Pete the Greek will now tell us that as well as backing Royal Auclair*, what he really meant was Silver Birch and he had several hundred down on him.

*I had him e/w as well so not taking the piss.

Each way I hope. You might be up on the day.

Using this very technique I won 12.50 as I came second and I put 5 e/w on.

I make it you should have got £20 back

Second place was 12/1. So 1/4 the odds is £3. 3*5=15 and your fiver back.

By the way all runners and riders came back safe.

One horse was in distress and had to be treated by vets for ages after the race. He was at the side of the track and rather than move him (he was on his feet) the last race was abandoned.

This would have cost the industry several thousand pounds. Shows how much people actually do care about the welfare of horses.

I put 50p each way on Homer Wells. I watched the race (and about 15 minutes of build-up) and never heard him mentioned once.

22.50 including my stake.

I did it online as I didn't realised the time and wouldn't have time to go to the bookies. I suppose Ladbrokes gave me the odds which were 14/1

thats what i got back on a 5 pound e/w bet on the one that came second. i had a fiver on another one that came 12th so ended the day 2.50 up. i doubt i'll ever get rich in this game.

Mrs P had a fiver each way on the winner.:)

Backed it because we have a silver birch tree in our garden. Women:rolleyes:

haha..backed it on girlfriends whim....3.00 each way at 40-1. 156 back, nice....though how does that work? 3.75 at 40-1 and the 6 quid stake back?....why the 3.75:confused:

An each way bet is really 2 different bets, in your case you had:

£3 the horse would win @40/1. £120 and £3 back. £123.

£3 the horse would be in the top 4 @10/1 and £3 back. £33.

i had £5e/w on silver birch, laid it on early in the morning and got 40-1.

£260 never felt so good.

:)
