Grand national tips

my friend tipped: Eurotrek, amberleigh house, numbersixvalverde and ross comm as possibles - what do urbanites make of them?

I had Amberleigh House e/w the year before he won. Never even picked up my winnings as I was too embarrassed to go into bookies :o

Can I presume that the grand national is on this weekend then?

I'm going to use my physcic powers to pick a winner :) ( did this about 4 years ago via the medium of my sleeping partner. I told him,when he was asleep,to pick the winner when he wakes up. And he did :eek: )

Eurotrek isn't running so he has no hope. Amberleigh House too old, this will probably be his last race, I like the other 2 though

Would you like to be entered in my sweepstake to win some non-existent money?

Would it be bad taste to run a book on first horse dead.

It'd be bad taste to run a major sports event knowing some of the competing athletes were going to end up dying on the course.

Still, all good fun :)

Well who is going to win then,something definate please.We can punt on it over here so i need a surefire winner at decent odds,not to much to ask i hope. :) :cool:

Here is some analysis of the National:

1) Essential, pick only horses between 9 and 12 years old, i.e. younger horses have a poor record in this race because younger horses prefer speed to stamina! (no horse under 8 in the last 66 years and no horse over 12 in the last 83 years has won the Grand National! 7 of the last 10 winners have been aged 9 or 10;

2) Check if your horse has a handicap rating of at least 135!

3) The above handicap rating is linked to weight. This means the Handicapper has horses weighted within 10st 6lb and 11 stone 5lb;

4) Getting the 4+ mile distance is essential, your horse must have won over 3.5 miles;

5) Essential, must have run in at least 10 chasers before and in big races too (Welsh National, Bet Fred Gold Cup, i.e. races worth £15,000 or more prize money!

6) Essential, choose only horses that have been placed (1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th) in these races, otherwise they will not win;

7) Essential, do not select fast going horses or horses who love heavy going - this year it is good or good to soft;

There are 13 horses that fit this bill; Ollie Magern, Sir Rembrandt, Innox, Puntal, Clan Royal, Forest Gunner, Ballycassidy, Garvivonnian, Heros Collonges, Jack High, Juveignour, Iris Royal and Baron Windrush;

Errr and always go for the 16-1 they are A good banker ........

Oh and my claim to fame is that I went to school in cornwall with Nigel Hawke who won in 1991 on Seagram ......

Buy or check out the tipsters in any five of the leading national papers out of eight, average out the tipsters and the favourite between them all Back.

Any three of the five tip the same horse to win, bet as a win,

any two, an each way bet. all tip different horses, go home and forget it.

Here's a tip.

Join up with a load of new online betting places, almost all of them match the value of your first bet, so you can get a £40 bet for £20.

Skybet, Blue Square, Stan James are all offering this (or variations thereof) and if you google you'll find loads more.
.

Garvivonnian to win, Amberleigh House 2nd Lord of illusion to lead for the early part of the race !!

Does anyone know if Coral have an offer on, as they deposited five quid in my account after I'd put my bets on, and I'm unsure as to whether I have to spend it on the race :confused:

just been down the bookies and put money on innox, jack high and numbersixvalverde to win, and inca trail each way. fingers crossed...

Yes! Had a fiver on numbersixvalverde!!

First time i've ever won owt on 'national. Only put it on this morning.

£100 quid up on the day - job's a good un - I had nil desperandum each way - and the wife chose numbersixvalverde - everyone's a winner.
I only backed nil desperandum cos I got it in the sweepstakes here. w00t :)
I'm now going to buy the finest wines known to humanity (and a chinese)

hhmm,I won the sweepstakes in the pub apparently,but the only thing is,I didn't put anything on :D

and just as I write this out,I get a text saying he's made a balls up,it was pistol pete,not pill head pete. :(

I won £17 , had a £1 e/w on n6valverde...... :D

I had clan royal at 6-1, for £ 3 to win.......

If i had only put them the other way round :cool:

Well, going to Aintree was a dear way of losing money. I'd have been better off just watching it in the pub and burning fivers every half hour. Horsemeat sandwiches all round, washed down with pints of Fosters at an extortionate £3.10 a pint!

I won £160. and three other friends won money on n6vv.

:D :D :D

everyone in fact, except for the person who gave him as a tip, who didn't actually bet on him because he didn't like the name.

brilliant
won £55 on n6vv
couldnt believe my luck

then on the phone to my mum after the race
she'd put £5 on him too!!

what are the odds on that?!

amazing!

brilliant stuff!

shame ive drunk all my winnings already :(

:D:D
