i liked it, didn't think it was amazing like, nice slice of life but i don't see why everyone is wanking over it tbh

I thought it was pretty damn good. Some of the lines that Clint had were great. But I did think he'd have made a more realistic 78 year old action hero if he'd been suffering from some form of mental detioration - dementia, alzheimers...something like that.

I sort of imagine the scene with the confrontation of the Asian gang on the lawn being even more intimidating if Clint had come up with lines like:

I blow a baby in your face and sleep like a hole

i think he makes a pretty realistic 78 year old action hero as he is just about that age himself like

Apparently its going to be the last filum hes going to star in,going to stay behind the camera from now on.

watched it tonight - as it's just come onto virgin movies on demand.

good film - liked the themes of racism and bigotry, and there were also some great scenes - such as the barber shop.

It makes me wonder if it wasn't an attempt by Clint Eastwood to rid himself of the right wing tag as he wrote it with other people, obviously to make a point.

barbershop was worst scene of the film, blokes who aren't blue collar trying to do blue collar talk - embrassingly.

nah. blatantly don't agree. I thought they pulled it off convincingly. I imagine Clint probably is working class - maybe not now but originally. I haven't wiki'd or googled so maybe wrong, just gut instinct.

Its funny how an ultra right wing gun-toting probable NRA card-carrying rascist fervant American patriot can be such an endearing character, and celebrated here on these boards!

Walt sees the error of his ways, and sacrifices his life to save the lives of the Asian family next door.

It was done so badly that it undermined all the previous work put in to establishing his blue collar credentials - the banter was weak and inacurate.

And you 'blatently don't agree'?

blokes who aren't blue collar trying to do blue collar talk

its just wrong

Clint is a master of blue language, if we want to call it that; or I suppose we should say that the writers he works with or chooses are. But a big part is in the delivery. I think that some of the best examples of this are seen in some of Clint's dialogue in Heartbreak Ridge.

According to Spike Lee, he's a racist cos he didn't include black people in his WWII film made last year.

Lee has a point though, Black and White are the dominant colours in American history...

...but who really gives a fuck?

To be fair, according to Spike Lee *every* fucker is racist apart from him.

Even DC's mum :(
