GPU Prices 2022 (and beyond)

Going for an RX 6700xt I think. Do you reckon banging the RAM up from 16 to 32 will make any difference?
For gaming? Only in a few edge cases. I went for 32 when setting up a new system so I wouldn't have to revisit it, but I probably wouldn't have upgraded 16 to 32. Almost certainly no difference with an RX6700 - you'll hit GPU limits long before anything else troubles you at 4k. FSR isn't quite as good at DLSS at covering up the difference with upscaling.

Why Radeon though? NVidia are superior.
Pure pixel pushing performance, AMD is better than NV for a given price. NV has worked really hard to give you other reasons to go for them, though. Like the latest Radeon Catalyst drivers are a shitshow (again), DLSS works much better than FSR, and if you're the sort that gets things at release NV are way better at having the driver ready for it. On the higher end cards, they're a fair bit more powerful at raytracing, too. (But I don't think it matters so much at the 6700/3070 level)

Edit to add: RX6700XT was between a 3060Ti and a 3070. Now the 4060Ti is pretty much dead even against its predecessor, but the 4070 is a fair bit faster than the 3070. The 6700XT is nowhere near 4070 level performance.

For some reason I thought they were miles behind but ahead of Intel with their threadrippers. Mind you my head is probably still in 2020 on this. :D

Yeah I might mean 3060 and 3070. Numbers have started to lose meaning.

oh from here: GPU Benchmarks and Hierarchy 2023: Graphics Cards Ranked

roughly the same as a 4060 Ti

So my 4070 is definitely better than anything I've had before.

Forza 4 @ 4k at ultra / max getting 109 fps at 120hz, 209 fps at 60hz

Using dlss with remnant 2 , looks so much better than the ps5 version lm not sure of fps

GTA V@ 4k max is well into 90fps.

Looking forward to Starfield as I've played most stuff I want to
