gordon ramsey genius or tosser

I used to really like him, and I even rubbed my hot erotic body up against a poster of him in a window once. However, I get pissed off at him now because it's so blatant when he's manipulating people to wind them up so they blow up and he can go "jesus christ"

or makes them cry then tells them to grow some balls

actually, to be fair it's the producers of his show who are the real cunts. i'm sure he's a grade A wanker, but i am reliably told (flatmate works in one of london's top restaurants, have met a few folk through him who've worked for Ramsay who all say the same thing) that his isn't anything like as full on in real life (most of it being acted up for the cameras) and if he was he wouldn't have lasted as long as he has done.

can't watch his shows as i find the swearing painfully contrived but - just like jamie oliver's wanky 'pukka' catchphrases - i suspect , again, that is at the behest of the producers.

Aye it's all for show and that's what makes it good TV, we know it's going to be the same routine every week but it's how him and the owners and chefs interact which is the good part.

I think he started of well by adding brutal honesty into the cooking trade.
This was pretty exciting in a fairly fay world.
Now though, I suspect he might have turned into a bit of a parody recently, and is happy to cash in by being a complete nobber.

Odd if he is an "A" grade wanker he has one of the highest staff retention rates in the business. When he fell out with the owners of his first restuarant Aubergine all his kitchen staff walked out with him.

My question is who would leave a job in a michilin starred restuarant to work for a 28 year wanker they hated.

Firstly I think people need to seperate Ramsey the Chef from Ramsey the businessman.

He can cook but its his father-in-law who pulls the strings behind the scenes and puts together the organisation. Saying that though, its very obvious that he does have something special and certainly has worked his way up from the bottom and that is always deserving of admiration.

I do like his attitude to work though and he does care about the restaurants he goes into save. I know of one guy who bought him in and said that whilst some of it was televisual BS a lot of it really was spot on and that most of what you see does happen. He also spent a fair amount of time off camera and was a throughly nice guy.

Wouldn't trust the fucker's food, either. If he can lie about a pizza being vegetarian when it has ham in, or tell vegetarian diners that something with chicken stock in is vegetarian, what else will he lie about?

"One of the volunteers who agrees to take part says that he has been a vegetarian for eight years. Ramsay replies that the restaurant's chefs have prepared a vegetarian pizza and gives him one to try. After the volunteer - identified only as "Bob" - has eaten the pizza, Ramsay tells him: "Unfortunately, that pizza has got a lot of mozzarella and tomatoes, but underneath all that there is parma ham."

The vegetarian complains to Ramsay that he has played a "mean" trick on him, but Ramsay jokes that he "hasn't come out in a big rash". He is then filmed laughing at the man and asking him if he would like some more, while telling the restaurant's chefs that they have "converted a vegetarian". As the volunteer hurries out of the restaurant, Ramsay calls out after him, "Good luck with the Vegemite!"".

On another occasion:

"he confessed in an interview to having fed a dish to a vegetarian party that contained chicken stock."

If he tried that stunt now he's get a shitload more flack that would hurt his business a lot more.

There's quite a bit of news on Blind Gossip about him and his nights out with a Spicy footballer. Both like to play a lot of away games.

Fucking hell are we in 2019 or not? That clip is uncomfortable viewing. What a twat.

That clip was filmed about 7 years ago.

Still uncomfortable but, you know, I probably made female Hollywood A-listers squirm back then too.

Dunno if he was coked up or pissed or both there, but fucking hell.

I’ve been told by someone in the industry that he’s a good deal easier to work with than a certain fat-tongued Mockney who shall remain nameless, but that’s more on the “professional trustworthiness” front.
