Good TV Series on boxset - recommendations please

If you had time to go to the BBC shop then I'd recomend a few quality BBC classics series such as:

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy
Smiley's People
The Edge of Darkness
A Very British Coup
House of Cards
State of Play

All excellent gripping stuff!

But if you haven't got time for that get the Wire - it's just as good as thiese if not better.:)

We've got loads GG, including the Sopranos. Feel free to come over and borrow some, if you like. I'm around all day. :)

Just go into HMV and take your pick - they've got almost every major TV series of the last 20 years in box set format at about 1/3-1/2 normal price...

So we're heading off into the wilds for the next couple of weeks - no TV, internet, phone etc. We always take a laptop to watch films on. We wanted to take the Sopranos boxset (as we recently watched the first 2 chapters and enjoyed it) but my brother in law has them.. Last year we watched all 3 seasons of Black Books.

Anyway, we'll be in the airport tomorrow and I could buy something there - what's good? (Apart from Lost or 24 - I tried both and didn't like them). Is Heroes really any good - gaijinboy reckons it sounds shit? Or any other suggestions?

i say peep show. but if you like black books then you might like the it crowd or father ted, same writer

You can get the entire West Wing Series for £50 in HMV.

Case closed.
I watched the entire of West Wing for the first time from beginning to end over the last couple of months and was surprised that I really got quite into it, it's well worth giving it a go.
