No: just some anarchist hardcore. Smash the state! Smash a shop window!

I didn't realise you were so sexist matt.

Edit: come on someone post that fecking banner please.

I met some pretty sound people whilst I was in SWSS - people with no tendency to robotrot, no hypocritical lifestyle choices, and no quoting Trotsky or Marx in every argument like preachers quoting the Bible, and a lot of very supportive people whilst I dj-ed a fantastic drum and bass set during the Unite Against Facism dance festival in Platt Fields Park. But there were some weirdos too - those who were in it just to purely meet people, and these were the ones that were easily lead. It seemed like any other organisation to me - you get your good 'uns and your wrong 'uns....

Well you said that one of our members in Bristol tried to recruit you. Dunno if he tried to recruit the other two though.
For fucking Revo! Even though i'm clearly a bloke in my mid 30s! :D

Does anyone know of what people said Lenin, Trotsky and Marx were like on a personal level? Any accounts of whether people thought they were a good laugh, boring bastards, players, down to earth, up their arses etc etc?

Lenin was a boring bastard, Trotsky was arrogant and self-important and Marx was a drunkard but could turn nasty at a stroke.

[if you're being serious] Krupskaya wrote an obituary of Lenin, didn't she? That might be personal.

Lenin could play a Theramin (used in the Doctor Who theme) apparently.....

Well that's either a compliment on your Oil of Ulay complexion or desperation in the fact that he's the only WP member in Bristol......

Kropotkin said you looked more like you were in your 50s.

So does anyone know of anything that talks about them personally?

Engels liked riding, but I was looking for a bit more than that.
Yeah, Lenin habitually cheated at crib - and Trotsky had a fascination for jack the ripper 'but just put yourself in his mind'...

Read Francis Wheen on Marx, Krupskaya's edited collection of reminiscences of Lenin, there are plenty of biographies (Deutschers especially) and other reminiscences of Trotsky...

Engels lived with two sisters at one time, though evidence suggests it was in fact Marx and not Engels who fathered the love child with his (Marx's) maid.

He meant intellectually.

That's more like it. So is this true?

Any of them into kinky stuff, drugs etc?

Did any of them ever do doggin?

I knew about the maid, but the two sisters thing. This is getting better.....

I know you say you are the 'least politically educated WP member', but I find it hard to believe the level of politics in the organisation is really at this level...

comrade cockers: why ruin such an intellectually stimulating, and worthwhile thread?

Trotsky and Frida Kahlo, I hear. ;)

He meant intellectually.

If you can interprete "he looks like a wrinkly old bastard in his late 50s" as meaning that, fair play, who am I to argue.....

Mind you as kropotkin is the youthful looking George Monbiot of the anarcho scene, what does he know.

Ok, so i'm either in my 50s or under 25...we all have our good and our bad days i suppose ...

Sadly it is.

We have whole meetings on whether Trotsky started off the craze of doggin and whether this make Stan Collymore a subconscious trotskyist.

PS I didn't say I was "the least" politically educated member in WP, but "one of".......but most WP members are geniuses you know, so that doens't bother me.
