It's strange to think now, but Thatcher "only" launched the Falklands War (2,000 dead?). Compare that with Iraq (half million civilians), Afghanistan (does anyone know?), July 7th (55 Londoners), Kosovo (several thousand?)...

up to a point that's true but she was in Washington when Iraq invaded Kuwait and pressed Bush (snr) for an immediate military response. Although she'd gone from office before the fighting started she was instrumental in ensuring that there was no room for a diplomatic solution.

Your point about the deathtoll from the labour regime is spot on, however
