Good Songs Murdered by Adverts

Some unmentionable washing powder company murdering "Da Doo Ron Ron" in the 1970s.

If you haven't heard it, believe me ignorance is bliss.

"You've got a friend" by Carole King. I almost feel embarrassed to say what a great song it is, after the way it's been mistreated, passed around like a cheap whore. Not content with missing a crucial chord out, as these covers always do, the AA advert chopped up the timing with bars of 3/4 all over the place. They rape-murdered it.

Young Folk by Peter, Bjorn and John. It was the theme tune to my summer when it came out and now the good memories have been sullied.

Fuck you Homebase, fuck you :(

forget the names but I discovered sigur ros a bit late and then suddenly hear them on everything :( They were in the background of a home decorating show the other day to name but one.
