Had to post about my lovely local Chinese take-away at 88 Railton Road.
When I first moved here in 1990 it was known as the "Rising High" but it's now the "Kai Hung" and I reckon its a notably good one. They do very generous portions of dishes which each seem to have distinctly different (and mouthwateringly dericious) tastes - i.e. not just an MSG special. Yep, I love this place and reckon I'm blessed to have it as my local takeaway....
Free delivery for orders over £10. (Kai Hung tel: 7733 6566)

This is our local as well and hendo's preferred option when I'm not around to cook for him. But he has eschewed it recently in favour of toast and sandwiches. He says it's really gone downhill.

Wondering if there's any with a choice for veggies - decent bean curd, interesting vegetables and stuff.. It's probably all cooked in goose fat or something tho. sigh.

It's not gone downhill it's simply that I'm off Chinese takeaways at the moment. KaiHung is still a good place IMO.

Wing Fu is a new one past Sainsbury's at the top of Brixton Hill. It's better than Penh An (fresher tasting... particularly excellent egg fried rice)... we've not been back since we discovered it. Worth a try. Uber friendly owners as well.

Has anyone else tried PAYA?

I think it's technically Thai or something but it's worth checking out on Just-Eat. Costs a bit more than usual but the food quality is amazing. It's by far the best takeaway I've had. My favourite thing to get is egg fried rice with salt and pepper squid, crispy seaweed and satay sauce, but then I often mix it up a bit and get something with prawns, and then go for some mixed platter starter or some shit. You get chopsticks and every now and then they throw in a fridge magnet which is great because I love fridge magnets. Portion size is good. I order for myself and get two meals out of it.

Overall: 8 Davina McCall's out of a possible 10 Davina McCall's

Thaks Guys, will give those two a go.

I've tried Paya, don't rate it, chicken is a bit slimey... Only 3 Davina's for me.
