I've got to add that it's all mostly shit though. 80's hip hop just sounds lame (with a few exceptions). I can understand listening to it for old time's sake but it really doesn't stand up against other decent music.

When people play it at a party or something I just think "do you really want to hear this?" It's cheesey, terrible and while it might be 'fun' to you I find it pretty annoying.

I know there are some great tunes, and I'm not someone who hates all hop hop but it really sounds dated and weak and laughable.

As an example of complete tosh this post would take some beating.
