goldfish quandary

ok i've failed to find a tank and i cant afford £150! i've been searching ebay buit there arent any in london. and you cant post em.

so the way i see it i have a few options.

1) i can keep him in the tank he's in and he will die eventually cos i cant keep it clean enough cos he's too big for it and besides he doesnt ahve enough air.

2) i can take him to my nannys pond where he might be eaten or he might be big enough to survive. but its outside.

3) i can try and give him back to a petshop to be rehoused.

4) . . .

help

*slaps wolfie*

what about any freecycle networks? the one in brum has just had a couple of fishtanks on it :)

or a post in the recycle forum (if you haven't aready)

i think thats the answer wolfie. maybe i should just flush him down the loo.

i already have aqua.

why am i so shit at life?! i shouldnt be allowed near other creatures.

I've just looked on brum freecycle and the tanks on there have been taken :(

if I see another advertised I'll try and grab it, sure we can get it down :) can't have a cramped fish, not after the giggles this thread gave me before :D

couldn't you improvise a tank from Derv's computer case?
It would have the added bonus effect of making it less noisy ;)

Put him in the bath til you find something... Sorry that I can't help :(

thanx aqua :) i'm probably overreacting and he wont die tomorrow but its hard sitting here looking at him being unhappy. especially whilst i'm feeling unhappy.

and woflie get the fuck off my thread if you're going to be horrible to me.

sorry - didn't mean to be horrid :(

aren't there other things you could use as a temporary tank until you can find a proper one?
those opaque plastic stacking boxes for example - B&Q have em but they usually have them in shops like Wilkinsons cheaper ...

sorry, i didnt mean to snp. i'm just feeling miserable.

its not reached critical point yet but thats a good idea i shall remember it if i get stuck :)

maybe this is my oppotunity to invent the fist expandable fishtank system like rotastack for hamsters :D i could just add another bit on when he needs it.

you can get them with wheels - you could take him out for a walk then - or a trundle at least :)

I was thinking about adapting pipes when posted above - trouble is I don't think you can get transparent piping

hehe

you know what the more i think about it the more that does actually seem like quite a good idea you've had (dammit  )

thanks, today i cant even stand up so i'm not up to anything creative, but tomorrow i shall read it (when i'm hopefully in a better frame of mind).

thanx teeps.

derv says we can go and try and buy one this weekend. i spose its an unavoidable expenditure. i agreed to feed and house him so i have to pay for that.

just may not be able to feed and house us!

Have you checked the price of strenghtened glass at a local glazier??
Deny reckons Derv could probably make one quite easily(he's good with making, isn't he?)
Or couldn't your dad pick up the one teeps mentioned? Or a taxi HAS to be cheaper than £150!!!
(((wiskey and Nemo(and Derv so he doesn't feel left out) )))

i think i may have found a solution.

although they may not advertise it i believe that pets at home (or pets r us or whatever they are called) sells very plain, very cheap tanks. which is good cos i have very plain, very cheap money :) minus point is that the nearest one is miles away.

so now i'm going to find someone who can drive me there tomorrow.

:)

*feels a bit happier*

thanks for the hugs

Oh gawd.

She's bought summat half the size of the London aquarium and with loads of fishy activity toys to encourage Nemo to exercise his fishy brain.

lol i never knew freddie mercury kept fish.

anyways here's a really bad picture of nemo's new home  obv it needs a bit more gravel and weed and stuff for him to hide behind but it was cheap and cheerful.

as you can see he's busy practicing hiding :D
