Going out drinking in Central London

I'm not too keen on it myself but it's one of the few places that stays open late around there. The only times I've been is because everywhere else is closed.

Exactly, I keep hearing about how Britain's 'drink problems' are all down to Labour's licensing hours relaxations, and yet even in fucking central london, it's still not that easy to find a late-night beer.

:mad:

I went to Yates a couple of weeks ago and got IDed (which is fairly common for me, only 22 and have a young face). I had my passport with me, the bouncers scanned it with some computer and it brought up all my details right there on screen, including an older picture of me, and my last address... Kind of freaked me out a bit.

:eek::eek::eek:

this is true. i moved to london a few months ago and have been caught out on several occasions, and was left scratching my head. it doesn't make any sense. there must be a market for people who want to have a drink in a pub past midnight, without necessarily having house music pumped into their ears or having to pay a tenner entry...

I'd ditch all the chain pubs on that list, and add in the Jon Snow on Broadwick St and the Endurance on Berwick St. In fact Soho's compact enough and has a high enough pub density that you can pretty much wander about and go in anywhere that takes your fancy.

My two local pubs. So this ^^ :)

I used to go often. Then it turned all gangster and went downhill.

Really? :eek:

I use to go there from time to time years back to play pool and listen to music. They use to have some really interesting DJ's playing down there.

Has it really gone downhill?
