goddamn mice!

We started with peanut butter, moved on to chocolate spread, and finally tried pizza. Nothing.

the first lot of spring traps we bought were shit. it took mega agitation to set them off. Then we bought old-style 'little nipper' ones. If a mouse even twitches a whisker near those it's goodnight vienna.

Mice like mess. The best way to avoid them is to keep the house scrupulously clean & tidy.

I fear, bluestreak, the mice may be there to stay...

On another mouse thread someone suggested raw bacon - it's stretchy and they have to tug at it to get it, which sets off the trap.

Depends how you'd feel about bacon, as a veggie, obviously.

If I'm killing them I hardly think ethics comes into it. besides, I live with gergl, i'm used to lumps of raw meat everywhere

We used to use those when I was a kid. - when my Dad's mystical "Be gone mice" incantation didn't work. Which was most of the time.

Though I always found their name "Little Nipper" darkly amusing. But then I suppose it does sound better than "Die you furry little bastards" :D

well, thanks to shiftybaglady and shifty jr i now have a houseload of sonic thingies to try out.

Kittehs work best, but they can be addictive. I started out with just the one for rodent control and I now have three. No mice though.
