The first Rage Against The Machine album shits on all that lot.
I mentioned "Loveless" because it's viewed as Kevin Shields' opus crafted when he was surrounded by troubles, not least with his co-workers (14 engineers I think). It's clearly not as typically listenable as Cobain's stuff and divides opinion more than just about any other album but if you do like it it's truly astounding. He may be a recluse now but I think if he'd topped himself they'd be more of a media-crafted aura surrounding him. I also said overrated as from the point of view of the record buying public at large. The people would never vote "Loveless" up to the top of these polls.
