Goats Milk

No it's not, fair enough.
Presumably milk fresh from the goat has no particular taste then? I'd be interested to try it sometime.

Doesn't seem to. People are blissfully unaware that they're drinking goats milk in their tea etc when they're here. Heating it up seems to make a difference so maybe it's because the shop bought stuff is pasteurised that it's a bit tangy. I don't give ours to anyone who's pregnant.

Bloody nice it is - picked up a carton at the wekend and thought I'd give it a go. Just finished a glass and it's just like cows milk?!:cool:

Bye bye cow milk I think...haven't tried it in coffee yet :o

Anyone else a goat fan?

Yeah me:) Love goats cheese and butter as well. I think it tastes just like cows milk as well but masterdk1 can tell immediately if I cook with it and he hates it!

I tasted fresh (ie the farm milked their own goats because one of their children had eczema) goats milk in the 70s, and I'd agree that there's a stronger taste to it than there is to the milk in the St Helens cartons.

Having said that, even the really fresh stuff didn't taste goaty to me - more like coconut cream.

I can taste the difference, and most of the time get cows milk (skimmed) because it's cheaper, but goats milk seems better for upset stomachs.

I'm beginning to wonder if there is a man/woman thing emerging here?

IME (& not just here), the bulk of people who cant taste the difference are women, whilst those who can are most often men. Hmmm!
