global underground mix CDs

nope, the Tony de Vit mixes are both still fucking banging.

I did say nearly all. For me the two Tenaglia ones are alright. Just alright though.

Don't like hard house. i mean i get it's supposed to be cheesy feel-good technoid party music but just doesn't do anything for me.

What? you a fan of the sasha, digweed, nick warren or dave seaman ones?

I found an early 90s dave seaman mix whilst clearing out the HD and it's cheesier than a lot of the oldskool hardcore mixes I have. and to think that progressive was once hailed as serious music!

There's also the fact that good oldskool (non)cheesy and manic hardcore is still awesome..

I've got the 2 Tenaglia ones, used to love them, haven't listened to them in over 10 years now. I think they'd probably bore me these days.

Probably the last era/range where CD mixes were relevant and interesting. Never understood prog stuff though - I just assume(d) it was for people much cleverer than I. I admired the fandom and devotion to the cause, even if the fans were unmitigated melts (GU board in the early-mid 00's I'm looking at you...):D

Tenaglias Basics CD is my choice of his CD mixes, though that's not saying much. I always think he sounds shit recorded (even on the scarce live sets), relative to being 'there' in the moment, with the drama, when it all makes sense...:D:facepalm:

Lol there's nothing clever about prog. It's basically post-95 and pre-95 euro dance trance for adults.

And when they tried to sound like techno in the early 00s they structured their dark prog records like trance ones, so the tune takes like 3 minutes to drop. Not really that useful for a techno dj who will have mixed out of it by then.

But hey. Give me 94 darkcore over S&D's renaissance any day.
