One hopes this will be another failed republican policy, just like the wall and the muslim ban
Watch Trump's youthful, against the grain, alt-right libertarian bloc implode
No need, we already got taxpayers to get all the money we need.
That really isn't much money to be honest, I would have thought any prospective sum would have been much higher.
I wonder how they reached that figure. The state of Colorado made enough money for a tax holiday. Given that's an actual implementation rather than some theoretical model cooked up by some think-tank, I suspect someone has fluffed their sums.
£1bn is a suspiciously rounded and emblematic number. It's nonsense.
Cannabis, like all parts of the black economy, already contributes to the overall economy.

five years since this thread was started with the states legalising in the USA...
Not picked up on much but both the FDP (liberals) and the Greens in Germany are pro-legalisation - the german conservatives might not like it much but it could come up in the coalition negotiations they are having to get those two parties on board.
I'd rather have proper opium, not everyone likes pot. I'm so sick of hearing abut it here--fucks me right up.

Danish companies queue to grow cannabis
I hate the term marijuana. It's ridiculous and was deliberately used by the early prohibitionists as a way of making cannabis, or "hemp" (the words have the same root - canab or hanap) sound weird and foreign.
It almost always seems to be called cannabis on this side of the pond anyway. At least by police and the media.
They’ll often say things like ‘a cannabis cigarette’ which nobody else would ever say and just sounds plain odd.
I can spell cannabis, but always have to look up the spelling of the other one.
I'm lazy, so it will be cannabis for me.

First in the UK? What twat of a sub-editor came up with that headline, considering the article correctly points out that Jersey is not part of the UK.
Well got that one wrong!
(norway used to be super strict on it)
The UK will be last. Our politicians would rather have 10,000 deaths that they can blame on others than 500 deaths that the tabloids could pin on them.
looks like Aus wants to be the weed tin of the world then.
