Did you register?

I really don't know what to do. None of my mates registered, I can't really afford it, I desperately don't want a mudbath thanks! If I go it wont' even be especially for the music (which is a very odd concept for me), yet I somehow fancy it? Plus, it's looking more & more likely I'll be going to Download 2 weeks beforehand, so will still be a bit 'festivalled out' by Glastonbury. It was supposed to be the following week, the plan was to go pretty much straight from one to the other. But one more week, and I will be all settled back into the land of clean toilets, and baths/showers etc etc

And I will cry if it's wet again. And probably not go, which would be a terrible waste of money that I will have to sell my soul to get in the first place, iyswim.

*huffs a bit*

If you don't go, it will definitely be sunny -- on the undeniable law of sod rule.

If you do, it will still be more likely to be sunny ... ;) :p... than last year ....

I'm just now reading in the other thread, from paolo999, that the registration figure may be nearer 220,000 than 250,000 , so either assume the former is a downward adjusted figure which allows for possible dodginess, or ignore my earlier post. Or both ....

Loads of Urbans and equally friendly others there though, MG ... :)

:)

Also true. And to be honest, the Urbs part of that is what finally decided me to register, knowing that my mates wouldn't follow suit. Although there is a hard-core Glasto-fest fan base here who will probably go. Im not especially mates with them but they are ppl I know, however vaguely.

I swing between 'sod it, I'll get a ticket & go' and 'can't be bothered' on a daily basis...... :hmm:

I've been like that too but thinking about how I felt in 2004 when I decided not to go has swung it for me. I was a miserable cow, especially cos I missed Morrissey.:(

I expect that this time, of those who registered, a much greater proportion will be serious about trying to get a ticket ....

I don't think so. This year's reg can be carried over for years to come so those who were undecided or might be thinking about going next fest (but not this) had more reason to reg this time than last. If I count how many of the people I would usually be trying to get tickets for against how many are intending to go it comes out only about 20% are still going. The "year off" intention of Bees and Aqua isn't the case for the vast majority of the "not goings" either, it's very much "might end up going again some time in the future" but no actual intention to do so.

I still think there were many more speculative/not sure type registrants last year, but I'm too tired to argue!

Hardly arguing. None of us have access to the real stats. :D I'd put a lot of money on it there's considerably less duplicate reg's this year, and (thankfully) not a host of idiots reg-ing on the final day to see what the numbers are up to!

You’d like to think so wouldn’t you but the number of people on (ex)TOS who were making 5 or 6 dummy registrations every night just to prove numbers weren’t going up sequentially was amusing to say the least. Plus there were a good few who continued to register right up to Sunday night just to make a point.

I have registered, I am not sure if I am working or not. Haven't heard anything so I have covered my bases. I'd like to go but I am happy to miss this year if it means I can go to another festival. :)

I made teeps register too but I am not sure if she did or not,

The de-shenaniganised figure is reckoned to be around 220,000. :D

On that basis, I doubt getting a ticket will be that hard at all this year. The 80/20 rule applies everywhere, so 20% of those registered will not want to go and therefore not even apply. Leaving only 176,000 people left who will, making the odds 2/3 of getting a ticket assuming that there aren't some lazy people in there who wake up late having been out the night before.
