Given the weather forecast one of these might be a good idea:-

Not for £25 a pop

They are well worth it - Both the expensive Seal Skinz variety & the much cheaper (@£5 IIRC) motorcycle variety from Lidl - Only they are not so warm but you can wear a light pair of socks under them.

I mainly wear them when plitering in bogs around hill-lochs when fishing & after 2 full days, when my boots were saturated, the socks kept my feet quite dry. :)

boots, plimsolls and as many pairs of socks as I can find clean before I go and a supply of plastic carrier bags and gaffa tape.

Once boots get wet inside it's very hard to dry them out, and from then on they're horrible and sore to wear.

If your boots get that wet then its time to buy decent ones.

Mine went through the entire 2004 festival where it was raining every single day. Dry as a bone and they are just standard leather boots.

As for the Sealskinz socks, they are totally water proof and quite comfy as they are lined with morino wool. You can stand in a bath and they will not leak. Unfortunately, i keep forgetting to point out that they are really for Cycling and Motorcyclists. The socks are inflexible and your foot does not move about much when in the saddle.

Walking about for miles has stubbed my toe very badly using them. Only really for when what ever you have on your foot become breached and you need to continue using them.

I accept the boot point, but wellies are convenient and very waterproof, it seems these are acid, radiation and heat proof too!!

We are expecting rain, but not WW3, so hopefully the heat and radiation proofing won't be needed!

I have no mid range footware! I am Paranoid now!!!

Otherwise packed.. cloths, sleeping bags, tent, ground mat, uber wellies, folding chair, lightsaber, torch, toothbrush...
