Glastonbury coverage on TV

Tonight northern presenter bloke was saying how he'd seen the Blockheads playing with Phil Jupitas singing, which sounds like a cracking gig- which probably explains why there's not a hint of any coverage of it...

Aye. I was shouting 'so show us it then you gits' at the telly.

Next up...some more indie bollox that sounds a lot like the indie bollox we've shown you already. Oh, and because Jay Z is on at some point this weekend we ought to show some hip hop...so here's Dizzee Rascal and his amazingly clean white trainers followed by a film of some of the funny weirdos in the green fields so you can point and laugh at them :D ;)

I've never really watched the Glastonbury coverage as i'm usually there. Looks like a completely different festival on the telly compared to the one i go to :(

Was the lead singer of The enemy channeling Weller c. 1978

Plus random mud covered students grinning...
Josh is doing an eight hour stewarding shift today, his first ever job-I am awaiting car crash carnage:eek:

And the drunken twats by the Pyramid stage :D

I'm sure Josh will be ok. It's only for a few days and not forever like a proper real job :D ;)

I'm sure Josh will be Ok-it's everyone else I'm concerned about:(
Tis funny not being there but really not bothered by missing it-not even watched the coverage on telly as only ever shows the main bands and not The Biggles Wartime Band in a random tent you will never find again somewhere to the left of a giant carved crocodile. And that to me is what made Glastonbury.

I have visions of Josh being all assertive stewardy then collapsing in helpless giggles after about 15 seconds. :D

If anyone wants to get in free, he is checking passes right now-just write 'tiket' on a rizla with a crayon and you will be fine.

I can't stand live music coverage on TV, the cameras all over the place and the quick flashing from one image to another, to the drummer to the guitarists crotch, to the audience. Its nothing like watching a band. I usually manage to stay roughly in one place when watching a real concert. I end up turning up the sound and listening from the other room if it is a band I want to hear on the TV.

I never managed to watch all of the APOF live DVD for this reason. It was edited like a videoclip - only about one hour long. A migrane inducing hour long.

Saw him in the studio last night. Has he had a stroke or something? They mentioned he's recovered from health problems where he couldn't speak.

He's had two brain hemorrhages :( There was a really moving documentary about his recovery on BBC2 the other week, he's really weak down his left side.

What I want to know is what is the camera mens fixation with everything skywards , lots happening on stage and in the crowd where you would expect the action to be but as soon as a helicopter or something else is in the sky the camera zooms in on that instead.

Have they headhunted the cameramen from Cosford airshow this year ?

Fuckin great.

I don't usually watch Glastonbury on telly but if anything made me want to be there it's Jay Z. Just waiting for Beyonce and Crazy in Love before I go to bed.
We arent that lucky! It would have been mighty though. :D

That was really enjoyable, I quite like watching glasto from the couch. Really good set, was pissing myself with the Wonderwall thing. :D

I felt the same way watching Amy Winehouse as I do when I watch Olympic ice skating or diving - that someone is in imminent danger of crashing and injuring themselves, but that it's quite entertaining to watch before that happens. How did she manage in those heels?

The BBC always seem to switch camera angles with alarming regularity during their festival coverage, I reckon they must use trainspotters for their Reading coverage judging by the number of times a passing Intercity 125 or Voyager gets shown!!

I thought Jay-Z was fucking brilliant, way better than most people expected. The greatest headline act of recent years. Although I have to say I hate people who treat the audience like children..
