I reckon next year will be the best / muddiest Glastonbury ever (© Eavis, M. 1971-2016). Looks like I'll be back again all being well, talking bollocks into a microphone for a week whilst people online call me a plummy twat :D . Had a better one this year, so quite looking forward to it again.

First anxiety dream last night that I couldn't get anywhere near the booking page. Then realised I was trying to buy them on a Saturday!

Snap. Although mine's justified as I didn't get a sniff of the booking page last year.

I'll be gutted if I don't get tix this year. 2017 is the 20th anniversary of my 1st Glasto plus I also have a birthday with a 0 in it next year. Surely It must be karma :hmm:
  9. Ranbay

    Ranbay The same rules apply

    1997 was my first also....

missed a few in the past 20 years, but in all honesty last year broke me (campervan drama and pushing a kid around in that mud all weekend)

so skipping next year, be back when he can walk more or something.

    Enjoy and good luck!

I'm secretly REALLY thankful that last year was the year that we didn't need a buggy for any of the W's, I was broken enough being pregnant and dealing with the mud, I saw a fraction of the site compared to normal years. Next year I will need a buggy again so it had Better Not Mud!

<public service broadcast> I'm told there's an iphone app to try to game the ticket scramble. paid for, someone wants to make money out of it.

Is the campervan field still up the hill of death?

    well yes, you'd hope so.

Personally I neither buy a ticket nor use apple hardware but this is potentially going to make the annual 23 minute shared moment into an even more fraught experience. Each year I feel this massive buzz as a million or so people concentrate on the same thing at the same time, many having spent months organising into groups of friends or the mega clubs, getting money and registrations and postcodes and all that in place, planning their technology strategy, going to bed early and straight in order to be on the case, and so on. And then, in the twinkle of an eye, it's all over and people are in turn joyous or, about 9 to 1, crushed.

Now the floodgate is open, what appears to have been a private technology solution has hit the mass market and seems to be selling, so an android alternative is bound to follow pdq. Might be a gamechanger, or maybe Seetix will figure a way to block it. Either way it's part of this years fun :)

Yes, unless there's going to be a major site layout change about that.. Which I severely doubt.

As we all know, ticket D-Day will be 6 pm this coming Thursday (6th October) for coach-based festival tickets, and 9am this coming Sunday (9th October) for standard tickets.

Get sorted, everybody, and good luck! :)

There's a second campervan field these days, on the west side of the site.

The gentle slope of trivial inconvenience.

Further away from a lot of stuff, though. But I still prefer it.

I should have remembered about the West side campervan field

It's definitely further to walk from there to the main site -- I don't think it's THAT near even Arcadia, and that much further away from the central madness.

But definitely flatter as said above :)

Shame to read this -- what was the main reason it wasn't so good for you? Just being curious ...

apart from the crap lineup, brexit and the atrocious weather?
  29. William of Walworth

    William of Walworth Festographer

    Brexit wasn't Glastonbury-specific ;)

I was hoping binka would blame the weather myself, but it could be any reason ...
