*Glastonbury 2004

It's disgraceful. Halloween was just over a week ago and already the threads are going up and people are rushing around looking to spend more money. Why can't it be more like the old days when we didn't even start to think about it until a few weeks before. It's all so commercialised - people are forgetting the true meaning of the occassion.

like this year, Sigur Ros headlined the second stage. now, don't get me wrong, great band. but at 10pm on the sunday when everyone is at very least pissed and more likely fucking munted, you clearly don't want hushed icelandic noodling. you want dumb beats or big songs or something.

slots/stages should be on mood/suitability, not chart placings
exactamundo.

waste of a great band imho - i was far too gone to enjoy them properly, as was practically everyone else there, by the look of them.

;)

Its dark cold and rainy, this thread brought back the flags on the one world stage against the totally clear sky.

<get excited>

7 months away....

:D

shit headliners, but i won't see 'em, i go and see some musicians somewhere instead.

i mean, paul mccartney, fuck off. prince might be good, but macca and oasis are simply shite.

i thought eavis wanted more young people there? then he needs to book some young people's bands...

Dammit!! I worked sooo hard to find that link a couple of weeks ago, and this thread was gonna be the pay off, and then you go and post it with none of the fanfair or streamers it deserves! Bah! ;)

And I'd like to use this opportunity to start the rumour that Thin Lizzy are reforming to play Saturday night (I'm not letting this go y'know) :D

Does that mean you get some kind of testimonial? :D

Just being there will be testimonial enough mate, thanks :)

Oh well perhaps hot and sunny conditions can be laid on again too, just as a bonus ... ;) :p

Do you reckon Moose?

I can't remember now if I tried the phone first or not. I know efests was down so I couldn't go through them. Then someone posted a link here which I used successfully - did manage to book them by 10.30 or so.

How sad am I -working myself up about tickets with at least 5 months to go before they go on sale:rolleyes:

#tries to snap out of it - fails#;)

hah! i fell for that one once. many a year ago i saw paul mccartney live on some tour or other. he played many a beatles alleged classic. it was shite, and painful, and even my mother (for it was she who had pressganged me into attendance) thought it was pompous twattery from a man with an ego to match his bank balance.

just say no to nostalgia kids, it's worse than crack.
