Glasto 08 Oxfam staff

is anyone supervising? did you have to write a paragraph explaining why you'd make a good supervisor? if so, could you foward it to me? i'm trying to move to a supervisor's position at latitude but i have brain fade.

for oxfam?

just write down anything you've ever done working with a team, if you've done oxfam before write down the various roles you've done (ie, gates, fire towers, disabled platforms etc) to show you have a range of skills. Competant with a radio and oxfams management structure wouldn't go amiss either.

tbh they hardly read it, depressing as it is there's loads of new people who've never even been to a festival who are supervisors at various places this year*.

(*I ought to point out there's just one in particular that worries me, I'm sure lots of others have loads of experience).

Phewf! Had a minor panic this morning when i heard that there'd been a problem with passes, and i might not be able to get on site til wednesday

But, all seems to be sorted now, though i may have to go down around sunday lunchtime, which is earlier than expected, but not a bad thing i guess.

BUT, they said the public camping areas are shut until wednesday, so i probably won't be able to camp down there til then. Anyone know anything more about this? Is it a rule that's stated to discourage people but then ignored?

oh yes it would REEEEALY annoy me if you came and got muddy in a field :p

and Gerry - thinking about it i'm fairly sure there were tents in public camping areas yesterday.

HAHAHA

at least if it pisses down with rain every day we'll get some sleep.
last time I was at glasto in the rain i had to pile all my belongings up in the middle of my tent to create an island for me to sleep on.

was not fun so I returned to my diet of caffeine, nicotine and the occasional quarter disco biscuit until 3 more days and 3 more nights had passed and monday had arrived and the sun it doth shone on glastonbury once more and the free spirit returneth to said tent and sleepeth once again until the plebs had left and the tatting had begun.

(not sure where the bad bible speak came from)

Cheers, thought so, was sure william's field was pretty much full by 10am wednesday last year, and can't have all been people who got in at 9am.

And then surrounded their tents with a few days of general detritus.

So shall chance my arm. Probably on site from sunday then, nervous, but it should be

Depressing indeed - always a chance they'll turn out ok though.

On the matter of those earlies nights - I had assumed that this would be sun, mon, tue nights - handing over to the main event squad on wednesday morning. We shall see.

Back to my packing now.

Is it possible to get in touch with the stewarding people by phone? I have an issue but have got no response from email. The website seems to lack a phone number :hmm:
