I think that the anti-world festie looks good but it's not been very well publicised...
I'm gonna get premission to start an antiworld therad in a sec so wedon't hijack this one.. unless someone wants to start a new one...

but there's around 150,000 flyers for the festival landing this week, plus new posters etc. highlighting each of the different stages, so there's a promo blitz coming soon I believe. I agree it's not been massively well publicised yet, but we were waiting for the license to be granted so we could finalise the lineups before doing the full promo push for it... license is granted now, and lineups pretty much finalised so the promo will start properly shortly... it has been getting advertised quite a lot through the mailing lists of the clubs involved, and apparently the festival site has had over 200,000 unique visitors so words out there somehow.

btw I'm cohosting a stage & co-ordinating stewarding etc for antiworld, so anyone after working blags should direct their pms my way;)

ok back to Glade, let's do a seperate antiworld thread eh;)

techno stage starts up in the evening to kind of take over from main stage later on.

I think with the sound they're gonna be much cleverer about it this year, and not have 2 fucking huge stacks 20m apart either side of the stage so it's really loud in front of them (and the sound carries for miles) but really quiet actually centre front of stage... I think you'll find the sound will be much more evenly spread throughout the tent, with quad stacks surrounding the dancefloors and hopefully some fills in the centre of the stage.

Because there's more of them this year, most of the stages are going to be a bit smaller too, which means the quad stacks (2 at front, 2 at back pointing inwards) shouldn't sound too bad... if they're too far apart you get problems with the delay from the different stacks and it can sound fucking shit IMO. Basically instead of having 2 big stacks at the front, and repeater stacks further back in the tents all firing sound out in the same direction so it carries for miles, they'll have the sound pointing in different directions so it disperses better and doesn't carry as far.

Plus it's function 1 kit so it'll sound crisp as fuck close in to the speakers and is designed not to carry too far, unlike the kit in the first year which was designed to throw the sound as far as possible... doh:rolleyes:

it's gonna be tough to meet thouse nighttime sound restrictions though... 5db above background average at 1 metre from the nearest noise sensitive houses is fucking harsh... really depends which houses they pick, hopefully only any that have actually complained.
youve gotta find the sweet spot i often find or it can sound a bit weird... ive done some lifting for funktion one before. the sound is gonna be alot better quality on the whole i just cant imagine it still be loud enough they had to keep on turning it down last year on the friday and throw didnt seem that bad.. i know the weather didnt help but still i just think the rescrictions are ridiculous for a electronic music festival... something about techno for me aswell says i want to be infront of a stupidly big stack instead of standing in the middle trying to suss out where sounds best.

and how close is the antiworld thing to london roughly? i hate trance but might pop down at some point if im around

lol - it didn't come from me like

officially it's at a secret location about 45mins south westish of heathrow... but it ain't the best kept of secrets being as there's about 25 promoters and 250 artists involved + crew who all pretty much know where it is and couldn't keep shagging their best mates mum secret for longer than a pint, never mind a festie location:rolleyes: ;) :D

yeah I don't like quadrophonic systems coz I've spent years as a dj training my ears to pick up on anything going slightly out of synch, and having the high hat from the rear speakers coming in slightly behind the high hat from the front really batters my head... i've noticed i tend to meet a lot of dj types dead centre of the quad systems in the sweet spot. I'll either be there on right in front of one of the stacks.
