Glade Festival 2010

Lineup is looking pretty good. I want to go, not been for quite a few years, since they've moved the site in fact.

Would LOVE to see Mills (and Orbital and many others) but the budget is just never gonna stretch this year

Yeah just been on the ravetalk forums, defo been cancelled. :(

Proper pissed off, was well looking forward to it.

there was a bit of trouble with do as yer likeys last year, they held someone up with a crossbow......apparently

But its looking like the council wanted more police (who have a policy of full cost recovery policy at £55 per pig per hour), double the amount of stewards, and a last minute license review which would cost money and not leave enough time to finish organisation......

Shame. Went for the first time last year and thought they did a lovely job of it. No arena system, no sponsors, immaculate loos and top punters.

This is very sad news. Feel sorry for anyone that missed out on this fantastic festival. It had one of the best vibes going.

I am well pissed off.

There should be a contract cut off point where the police and councils cannot do anything for this event or they can just scupper a years worth of work in an instant. Should be some form of contract that if they do change anything after that point they are liable for the costs of those changes.

Councils would suddenly wait till the next festival once they were on a more equal footing and knew any changes might cost them. The current situation does not seem very fair.

Seems like the same thing as Strawberry Fair. Council happy, residents mostly onboard, but Police dragging things out so that the event is forced to cancel.

Rotten state of affairs.

Ah, that's proper outrageous.
You can't squeeze an event so hard that it closes because of one incident in six years.

yeah, but the drugdealing/drugtaking at the event was blatent wasn't it? even more so than at other festivals that I've been to.
