give your shit computer a reet good seeing too.

It's software, not hardware - you know, invisible 1s and 0s held in an electric field representing your data. Your computer is still fast, but there's a ton of stuff slowing it down. There's more 1s where there should be 0s and your PC is killing itself fighting an impossible battle to burn off this fat.

More 1s where there should be 0s? It's not a sentence that inspires confidence in the rest of the article :p

XP runs great on my creaky old P2 333 with 128mb of RAM. Sometimes it slows right down when you've got several Firefox windows open munching all the memory, and XviD won't play for shite, but what do you expect with eight year old hardware :D I'm generally quite amazed with XP's ability on legacy hardware. It's as fast as Win95 ever was and is even comparable with xwindows on Linux.

The trick to keeping your computer running well is to never tick that little "Start [whatever] at boot time" box.

There's 10 types of people in the world; those who know what you mean, and those who don't.

Great post loud. :)

I'd recommend getting rid of Adobe Acrobat reader as it runs an update process in the background and is generally shite anyway. Foxit reader is better and faster imo and just runs from an exe.
