blandness? - anything but the best british pop music this decade, and better than any pop british pop i can recall from the 90s either. exciting, fun, exuberant, interesting - anything *but* bland to be honest.

Well put. I always say this, but I'd rate them as the best British pop act ever. Always fresh, always interesting, always different. Good to see The Promise go to Number 1... very well deserved.

no they're not dave. every sugababes album i've heard has too much filler, too many soppy ballads and rnb warbling. not the case with GA.

i did used to think the same thing tbh, but GA consistent greatness won out. and sugababes lost their coolness when mutya left.

This. Sugababes have done some wicked tunes, but they're far less interesting and experimental than GA.

Rather too much shiny, mature pop at the start for my tastes, but luckily the madder stuff is only a few songs away.
I really hope they release "Live In The Country" as a single: great stuff, and the cow and sheep samples were

Other initial standouts are "Love Is The Key", "Fix Me Up" and "Miss You Bow Wow" (wtf?). "Turn To Stone" is pop so polished you can see your face in it.

I like it. Quite funny hearing them shoehorn "anarchists" into the final tune too.
