girls aloud - best album poll

i think the best Girls Aloud album is...

  • Total voters
    15
i *think* i'm going to go for tangled up, but i'm not 100% certain yet, so i won't place my vote until i am.

and it's the only one of their albums to not have their picture on the cover

(except for the special edition, which, er, did)

I'm on "To What Will The Neighbours Say" which having opened with "The Show" and "Love Machine" has blown "Sound of The Underground" out of the water.

So much for the difficult 2nd album ;) this one sounds so much more polished, higher production values an' that but I guess they had a higher budget etc for the 2nd album  it does have "I'll Stand By You" though, which is fairly poor imho :(

i didn't like i'll stand by you until i heard them do it on that live gig they were always showing on e4. sounded splendid on that for some reason...

no "i prefer the fan-fic" comedy option: poll fail :(

Which fan-fic? :hmm: a certain fan fic written by a tiny, pathetic, misogynistic civil servant?

Or one which extolls the utter aceness of Girls Aloud?

i've not actually listened to one but 'sound of the underground' gets the vote for the hilarious title :)

Ooh, that's contentious. I think, as a pair, I'd take "Sound Of The Underground" and "No Good Advice" over "The Show" and "Love Machine", although all four are works of genius.

I plumped for "Sound Of The Underground" as the best album in the end. I think "No Good Advice" is still my favourite GA song, and just the sheer balls and shock to release such a great piece of work after being constructed on a ITV talent show. There's an argument to say that it's one of the most influential British albums of the decade too, with the ballsy femi-pop which is so popular these days.

polls need comedy options- s'all i'm sayin

Some polls need a comedy option but this is no ordinary poll with a thread...*said in best m&S ad voice* this is an extra special poll, now with added gravitas and importance than your average u75 "have you seen your sister's sexual reproductive organs", "I've eaten a slightly brown banana - am I going to die" or "who wants to go to the pub" poll bobbins

I'm possibly taking this a little seriously, eh? :D

I'm on "Chemistry" now btw and whilst its good, and has a good GA cover on it with See The Day and my 2nd favourite ballard in Whole Lotta History and of course the geni-arse of Biology, "What Will The Neighbours Say" is still ahead.

i thought that was funny too - i mean, it must be ironic yeh? :D

i haven't heard thier albums dodge, but really do like a few of their singles. that's the best i can do i'm afraid. :)

I ran out of time/was too sleepy to listen to "Out of Control" last night so "What Will the Neighbours Say" is still ahead for me.

In the interests of fairness though, will wait until I've heard "Out of Control" again (for the first time this week, prob :D) until I cast my vote.

It's going to be a close run thing though, I think...

why? SOTU (the song) isn't saying that GA are underground at all.

but, yeah, it is quite funny, nonetheless, for a mainstream pop band to have an album called sound of the underground, i'll give you that. i'm feeling charitable.

Haven't heard their albums and I don't mind a few of their singles. They are ok, as a sound over on a TV programme from time to time.

Have never bought any of their music.

They look pretty good, although one or two look like they are in need of a visit to their local chippy.

That's the best I can do.

They bring hapiness to some of my mates, so that's good enough for me.

How very big of them! :D

I'm going to do my research today, but I don't think I'm going to be able to choose. but if I were to choose I'd probably go for a later album, purely because the album only tracks get better as time goes on.

oh god, I hate having to choose :(

have I spelt choose right?

Yeah, that's pretty much what I think, too. I liked 'The Promise'. Found myself humming it a few times and didn't go 'wtf's that doing in my head?' iyswim.

one album down, four to go

I know I'm not going to be able to choose - I think I'd forgotten just how good sound of the underground is!

ok, so I've listened to all of them and it's between sound of the underground and out of control.

hard to choose, but I'm gonna say out of control.

phew!

I think that chemistry is probably the least fabulous, but still fabulous none the less.
