Getting to Heathrow for 6.00am

aaarrrggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I don't believe it. The confirmation has come through from when I made the first booking when the site crashed, so I've now got two booking references which probably means I've been charged twice :mad::mad:

Fuck me.
5 pages on getting to an airport & getting a flight to Ireland.

Only on Urban. :D

looks like I'm going to have fun trying to get a refund

So if you'd just decided to pay the nice man in the black cab £40/50 in the first place....

Minnie's next thread: 'How Do I Get Dressed In The Morning?'

Bump, arise o thread from ye slumber.

Am seriously considering a hotel outside of Heathrow because otherwise I'm fucked, to old and ill to be taking night buses all the way there.

Looking at the map it looks like a fucking nightmare to get from the tube (my only travel option really) to the hotels outside the airport, is this the case?

Check how much it would be to check into a nearby hotel or getting a cab early morning. Everyone seems to be using this app for cabs called Uber, which is apparently cheaper. Using a friends introductory promo code, I got a £10 discount to £32 from south east London two weeks back. I don't think I can assed again with the tube journey to Heathrow anymore, at anytime.

I've a hotel in mind, but on the map you have to go out of the front of Heathrow, it does not look friendly.

Airport hotels almost always offer a free shuttle bus so don't worry about where it is. Most of them are outside the heathrow perimeter.

Heathrow hotels are forbidden from offering their own shuttle buses, instead there is the hotel hoppa bus. The reason for this originally was to help the airport meet its pollution targets, but it's turned into a nice little earner for some. The hoppa bus is slow and calls at a number of hotels before calling at the terminals, and for this National Express charge £5 per journey. If you are in a hurry or don't fancy waiting at bus stop in the rain a taxi from e.g. Bath Road Premier Inn to terminal 5 will cost an extortionate £15+. Uber will charge about 35% less so could be the cheapest option for two people.
