Where's all my fellow Azzurri fans? I'm getting outnumbered here !! :(

you have to stir things a little bit more if that doesn't help start abuse and threatening people into supporting your team :) :o ;)

yay to magic d's and pie1 posts!!!

Yay, for history

From the BBC;

"Italy and Germany have met on 28 occasions, with Italy winning 13 and Germany seven. The pair have contested six competitive matches which all took place at major championships. Italy are unbeaten in this respect winning twice and drawing four times. In four previous World Cup encounters, Italy have won twice and drawn twice. The sides have met only once at the World Cup semi-final stage. In 1970, the Italians secured a dramatic 4-3 victory in extra time setting up a final meeting with Brazil. Germany missed a chance to vindicate that loss in the 1982 World Cup final, in which they fell 3-1 to the 'Azzurri'.

In the last meeting between these teams, Italy hammered Germany 4-1 in a friendly in Florence."

:p ;)

bad pmt, toothache...anything was being considered.

Forza Azzurri !!

Germany will close up for the first 20 minutes, Italy will forage for openings, Germany will move into attack mode for the latter part of the first half and pick up one goal vefore3 half time...

Italy will attack strongly in the opening minutes of the second half and pinch the equaliser. ... for the balance of the next twenty minutes ... a very competitive battle for mid field... closeing with Germany just stealing the winner in the last five minutes. .... 2-1 to Germany.

Possible a sending off and at least three yellow cards... ... to the Italians.

But........ that could be all wrong .... with Italy .... stealing a second on the break in the last ten minutes..... very close game......

I would like to see Germany win..... becasue the guys I was with on Sunday lost due to a breakdown.... DTM .. Audi Abt.

Tyldesley comes out with a Motty type fact ...... Perotta, an Azzuri, was born in ASHTON UNDER LYME ... :p

Ey up lad ...

Good game so far ... evenly matched ... :D

Yep, with Perotta who's missed the best scoring opportunity. So the match is being played at a quite high tempo as well. Thus it's hard to tell who's going to score first. Promising start though :)

Even though the Germans have missed the chance of the first half, they are hanging on at times by the skin of their teeth. The Azzuri are begining to dictate the match. 1 booking so far and the Ref is not overfussy with regards to bookings.

You're the Northerner, you're the expert! :p

a) I had a mental abberation and thought Ashton was in Stoke, when it's not - it's near Manchester - My mate even lives there:o - therefore 'duck' is less accurate than 'lad'.

b) I can retain some pedantry points by pointing out it's Lyne, not Lyme:D

Very enjoyable game, very even. Italy just shade it for me but either side could take it and would deserve it really.

Gratuitous shot of a gorgeous Azzuria (?) in the crowd ... Italia flag and blue wig and nice .... . :p :D

I noticed. Why do all other countries have such gorgeous supporters while England have shirtless blokes who looked to have swallowed a basketball whole?
