General football related chat, news, rumours etc

I thought it might be an idea to have a thread for stories that aren't big enough to warrant a new thread of their own but are still worth posting.

So here's some fair play from Aaron Hunt during Nurnberg vs Werder Bremen, where he tells the ref to change his penalty decision.

I thought they weren't allowed to change their decision

Fowler did that a while ago didn't he? Of course, when the ref didn't change his mind Fowler still stuck away the penalty  :D

Can't watch the video.

Here's a selection of football fights, bad tackles and dirty players. There's some real shockers in there.

Wigan beat Manchester City, into the semi finals. Wonder what odds you'd have got two years ago for back to back FA Cups?

Why hasn't this thread been merged with the other one yet, editor?
Because that one relates to a specific season ("General football chat 2013-14 season"). As is clearly obvious from the title and content posted, this thread covers general football chat from any time period.

And with that, I'll put you back on ignore seeing as your only interest here seems to be whine, nitpick, complain and generally be a pointless pain in the arse.

There's no need to be like that.

Is this the thread for people who don't want to engage in all that tedious 'banter' and might actually go near a football ground every once in a while?

^^ off topic nonsense.
By christ the macho crap posted by rugby fans is tedious. 'Oooh, they hit each other really hard and don't squeal either and carry on even when they've had both their legs ripped off....' etc etc ad nauseam.

Never mind that the actual entertainment value of the game is roughly equivalent to putting your nob into a cup of cold dog vomit, they're so HARD

I'll park my ass in this thread for general footie chat. cba to create another thread.

Currently watching MOTD with Right Said Fred...

Top quality play from Sanchez and Aquero. That second Aguero goal was stunning.

Moyes under pressure.

Liverpool won well...Eagles soared momentarily but got their wings clipped. but what's up with Firminos hair? (scored a decent goal tho)

Spuds missing Kane?

Top 3 edging away slightly. Scum Utd losing ground a bit and maybe Maureen's losing the plot. Still got time to turn things around.

Bonkers. 350, after tax.

The “insane details” of the new and improved six-year deal inked by Gareth Bale that will apparently make him the world’s highest paid player on £350,000 a week. After tax. According to The Mirror, the one-time Tottenham full-back turned Real Madrid winger will earn £34 per minute, which adds up to £2,054 per hour. Or £43 per second spent on the pitch, which adds up to £2,580 per minute. In a nutshell: whether he’s on the pitch or not on the pitch, Bale will be earning lots and lots of money.

Happy that Moyes finally got a result, lets see if he can keep them up.
Chelsea were on fire in particular Costa and Hazard. Didn't expect a Koeman team to get hammered like that.
Pardew must be gutted after coming back from 2 down. Guardiola also after dominating against boro.

North London Derby today...go Gooners.
Bradley needs a result for the Swans if they do get one, what next for Maureen?
Thieving scousers can keep up their title credentials with a win.
Foxes vs Baggies...mid table mediocrity?

I’m surprised this thread hasn’t proved popular in the football forum, as similar ones elsewhere on the boards have proven very useful. Anyways, just coming here to wonder at how insanely fucking good Bellingham might be five years from now, considering how ridiculously talented, intelligent, and mature his game is already aged twenty. Just scored a brace away at Barcelona to win the game in his first Clásico. Cool as a fucking cucumber. At £105m or whatever it was, it already feels like the steal of the century for Real.

If he stays fit, I really can’t see anything going past England at the next Euros, frankly. And dare say tge World Cup.

Things coming to a head with our dubious property developer owners at Torquay United.

Having presided over our slide into NLS with barely a murmur of fan engagement (our owner never attends games and rarely even speaks), they have now rapidly responded to our Supporters Trust's open meeting with this defamatory and insulting statement. I'm fucking livid and so are most fans. To make very clear, nothing more than peaceful protest was suggested.

Love this. Spotted during the Cologne v Bayern Munich match earlier.

Harry Kane scored the only goal too. His 18th this season.
