Question Gener8 Ads Browser - blocks cookies/tracking OR allows you to share your data & earn 80% of ad revenue.

I'd rather live without adverts - it's not worth it for the sake of a few quid.

I could put up with some ads if it produced say £20 pm, sites that are heavy ads, like the Mirror, you can turn down the number you see or switch them off completely for that site, clearly that impacts on the points you get.

The Guardian is OK, one small box ad in an article, one or two in the R/H column that I don't tend to notice, and I discovered about 4 towards the bottom of the page, which I wouldn't normally see, as I don't normally scroll further than the end of the article I am reading.

If I get bored with it, I'll probably turn off the ads completely, but continue to use it, as the browser is basically Chrome, but seems to run faster for some reason. 🤷‍♂️

I've enabled ads on Brave. Let's see what happens over the next week.
Well, I enabled ads but I've not been using the browser for the whole week. Probably only 4 days. My estimated rewards are $0.44. I "viewed" 24 ads. They don't appear within web pages but are browser notifications. I glance at them but can easily ignore.

Interestingly Brave will auto-contribute the cash back to any websites that are registered with them. Of the sites I regularly use the Guardian, DuckDuckGo & The Register seems to be enabled for this.

I have the browser setup with defaults so that I don't see more than 5 adverts per hour.

All in all, it's pretty good. Non-disruptive adverts.

£20pm for Gener8 seems even more optimistic though in comparison.

It's still hard to grab offers on Gener8, and as I had built up a fair amount in credits that I couldn't use, I disabled Gener8ads and just use it as an adblocker for now.

However, every so often I dip into their 'marketplace' to see if I can spend some of those credits, so far I've grabbed £55 in vouchers for Amazon & Tesco, and now 5 bottles of beer & a glass, which has been dispatched today.

Yunno you've been wondering why your 'leccy's been soaring a bit . . . I think I might have found out why

I didn't see this thread then, so I am learning about Gener8 for the first time today.

I am surprised to see that it is still going!

Is anyone of you who went for it still using and still earning?

It has Chrome extensions and mobile versions too. Worth it? Shit browser? Data Privacy nightmare? (yes, I imagine)

I gave up on it, because of the lack of worthwhile offers, I did get 3 or 4 packs of 5 beers from around the world at different times, IIRC it was just £4.99 for delivery on each, so a reasonable deal, for some decent and interesting beers.

I also picked-up about £40-50 in vouchers for Amazon, Argos & Tesco, but these were always limited numbers available, and you had to be around for when the countdown clock hit zero, and then be bloody quick to hit the buy button before they were all gone, which basically became impossible as more people started to use it.

I had the level of ads displayed turned to a minimum, so wasn't clocking up that many points anyway.

Basically, I grew bored with it, and ditched it.
